We’ve just recorded the new Galactic Suburbia podcast (it’s not up yet, don’t go looking) and I’m feeling bouncy as always after a nice long booky chat with Alex & Alisa. I’m kicking myself though because I did this whole thing pre-promoting the K9 premiere tomorrow morning on Channel 10 in Australia and the podcast won’t be out until after that! Drat drat drat it.
I am having a horde of small boys come around tomorrow at 9:30 am to watch the show with Raeli. I have a vague feeling like I should we baking muffins or something…
Speaking of Galactic Suburbia,
Mondyboy has included us in a list of his current favourite podcasts, which is really nice. I loved what he had to say about us being conversational and about the structure of the podcast. It’s really working for us, I think. Though we are very rough around the edges still and only just learning about things like mute buttons and how to not talk over each other…
This one may be a touch rougher than usual because we weren’t on our usual internet frequencies - I am at home over Easter but Alex is in Ballarat and Alisa of course in the hotel at Swancon.
In other news, I am geekily excited that now I have managed to turn off the privacy settings that kept my blog out of Google (the word duhhhh came to mind when we figured that one out) people are now finding it thanks to odd and esoteric word combinations. I was a little peturbed yesterday that someone found me thanks to Googling “why reading novels is bad” but today picked up immeasurably when I found out “karen gillan ridiculously short skirt” led someone to me.
Ridiculous, you say?
In other news I am reading Chicks Dig Time Lords and loving the hell out of it - this book is made for me! I rave a little about it on the podcast but expect a full review soon. Too many highlights so far to mention them all but I adored the behind the scenes comic about the making of Torchwood Babiez (which I have read, thanks to Bridging the Rift) and also the behind the scenes story of the Jackie Jenkins column which I adored in DWM in the 90’s.
