Kaoru looked in despair at the card and soft toy that were seated just outside the door to the treasury. His own name, written neatly, on the pink envelope.
Unlocking the door he crouched slowly to pick them up, noting the hint of cinnamon that seemed to emanate from the toy.
With a slight smile and shake of his head he picked them up and headed inside, closing the door softly behind him.
Turning his attentions to the treasury the sight in front of him made him almost choke.
“Omi?” He questioned, the only word he was certain he could form coherently as he looked at the piles of sweets, cards, toys and other such trinkets that seemed to spill over the treasury coffee table and sofa.
“Kaoru, I’m glad you’re here, I am running out of places to put these.” Omi spoke softly, his smile a little wider than usual as he took in Kaoru’s bemused expression. Omi looked as though he found Kaoru particularly endearing clutching the small grey teddy tightly in one hand. Kaoru glared for a second before he softened his expression and looked questioningly at Omi, imploring him to explain what was going on. Instead the blonde rose from his computer chair and crossed the room, hands tightly behind his back.
“Would you like to see my gift?” Omi asked, pressing himself against Kaoru’s side.
Kaoru looked up at him slightly confused, Omi rarely participated in such trivialities, but Kaoru could see the excitement in Omi’s expression, so he gave in.
A single nod was all Omi needed to pull a box from behind his back and present it to his Queen.
“Open it. It’s your Birthday after all.” Omi whispered seductively into Kaoru’s ear, and Kaoru shivered slightly as he complied, taking the box and seating himself on the only space left on the sofa to open his present, a soft smile gracing his features.
Careful unwrapping was followed by a soft gasp, and sudden disbelief.
“Omi!” He stated happily and, carefully placing the box to one side, he almost threw himself from the sofa into his friend’s arms.
“I knew you would like it.” Omi smiled wrapping his arms around Kaoru’s narrow shouders
“How did you get it? It’s limited edition!” Kaoru asked, looking up from where he was nestled in Omi’s chest, before disregarding his question with a flick of his hair, “I’m sorry, that was rude. Thank you so much Omi.”
“Happy Birthday…” Omi repeated but Kaoru was not interested and he cut off Omi’s sentence with warm, soft lips. He felt Omi stiffen for a second, before he responded, and Kaoru relaxed into the warm embrace, enjoying every moment.
“Happy Valentines Day.” Kaoru whispered, breaking the kiss for a few seconds, gasping softly as Omi’s warm hands slid beneath his shirt.
“Happy Valentines.” Omi replied as he bent his head to capture those lips into another kiss.

For some reason, that afternoon when Niwa and Nakajima went to deliver the Student Council paperwork, the treasury was closed and neither Omi, nor Kaoru could be found.
