Ups and downs at the gym

Yesterday the parking gods were on my side. At this time of year the gym is packed (unsurprising) and there seemed to be zero spots in the lot. I circled a few times and was ready to give up and head home when someone pulled out right in front of me, so I snagged the spot. I was on the fence about going in the first place, so I was pretty quick to give up looking. But as is always the case, when I was done I was glad I went.

Today I didn't do as well. I was tired and cranky after work. It was snowing, I didn't want to deal with the crowds at the gym and I just wanted to go home. So I did. Greg had dinner ready when I got here and we just had a mellow evening, which was nice. I feel a little guilty for not going, but I will go tomorrow and that's good.

There is a trainer at the gym (Brian) who helped me set up a workout plan and is acting as my "accountabilibuddy" now that I'm no longer in the group training class I was taking all summer and fall. (I had to drop it for budgetary reasons, it was an extra cost on top of my membership) I don't actually work out with him, but he's keeping tabs on me cuz he's a nice guy. Well, as nice as any trainer ever is, heh. He set up a schedule for me. And when I don't stick to the schedule, there are...consequences. Which means my ditching tonight will cost me a 1,000 meter row at some point soon. That is gonna suck. But as for tonight, I am warm and cozy at home and I had a beer with dinner. It's all about balance, my friends. :)

choices, blah, exercise
