Aww. Thanks for this -- I'd only ever heard the producers' story, and though they did say that he wasn't a really piano player and only learned the notes for the role . . . Jensen's story is much more charming. :D
Still, eight whole bars of Chopin is a LOT to learn and get the fingering down, especially if he's not really a piano player. I'm still impressed, though, 'cause I sure as hell wouldn't be able to do that. XD
As a former piano player, I'm curious. Do you happen to know the piece he played? It's been years since I saw that episode and all the clips of it seemed to have been yanked from YT by Fox.
Had to go prowling through my CDs, 'cause I couldn't remember the name. Glad I looked, too -- I thought it was one of the Ballades, but not. 'Tis Etude #3 in E, "Tristesse."
While it technically was his hands in the wide shots, he's not actually a piano player.
