Nice!

Where'd you find the astropolitical map in the Sulu's response to Chekov

Good question. I googled "Star Trek Map" and it came up HAHA. I figured being a navigator he'd have a map.

found it!

Awesome! Still interested/amused by the TNG LCARS interface in your work, by the way.

Well, you don't see a lot of clear shots of actual consoles in the new film (other than "Mac Book Exploded in All White" which wouldn't make for interesting graphics), and yet it definitely doesn't look like TOS, so Cassandra has sort of merged the old TOS and more advanced Next Gen look.

You're right. After blowing through a whole host of screencaps* from the movie, the UI flavor elements are so minimal as to be non-existent outside of font consistency and that all artwork is vectored. While stylish in a certain "must be Swedish" way, yours is much more distinctive and easily recognizable as Trek, instead of a Winamp visualizer.

*I can show my work if you want links to specific caps (because I'm neurotic when it comes to UI).

I don't know what UI means *hangs head*

sorry - User Interface. All the pretty that makes the content usable - what the buttons look like, where they're located, colors, how shallow the menus are, information positions on the screen. That sort of stuff.

Yeah I know what User Interface is, I'm a computer tech and a web developer *heh* I just never heard it referred to as UI before.

But really, these are just for fun, when I'm designing a new program or a website I worry quite a bit about the usability of the site or program, however for this, I'm not going to spend that much time on it.

I'm OCD enough as it is when it comes to art and if I worried over every little thing they'd never get posted (creating 8-10 graphics in a week is already time consuming). They're also not really designed to look exactly like they would on a starship, it's just tiny exerts from areas and I have fun putting in little details, but again I'm not really going to spend a whole lot of time on making sure everything is picture perfect as if I were designing the actual consoles on a real starship or for a movie.

Yeah, I keep hearing as UI/UX (user interface, user experience). Cause really, the field needs more jargon.

Even for just fun, your works are consistent and well-composed, which is something that the movie didn't have (in ten minutes of hunting - cause I am compulsive like that - I found two wildly different transporter interfaces: a and b). So there's that.

Anyway. Very much looking forward to more of yours!
