It's days like these...
That seriously make me question my desire to teach. And really, it isn't the shitty students, it's the fact that the adults cover for them by covering for the reputation of the school over individuals as human beings...but I should already know this considering I lived through high school myself.
The corruption is really disheartening and I wonder if it's just in Illinois or if it's everywhere in the US. I remember following sampaguita_blue's trials and tribulations with Education in California and I wonder if I've wasted time and money on a worthless "teaching career" and wondering where I should go next.
I think I need to get out of Illinois. The State is corrupt. The police are corrupt. The schools are corrupt. I find I no longer have faith in this state. I think it's time to GET THE FUCK OUT. The only problem is that there may be no getting out because it is like this everywhere.
