Some Bad News

I received a letter from the OCR (Office for Civil Rights) from the Dept. of Education. The office did not have sufficient evidence to charge the University with discrimination or retaliation. They are not saying it didn't happen - just that they don't have enough evidence to prosecute it. The OCR does not have subpoena powers and the university has not been forthcoming with requested documents.

This is not all bad, I still have the opportunity to appeal and I can still file a suit in court regardless of the OCR's decision. I have been interviewing attorneys regarding this issue for about 5 or 6 months now and I think I've gotten one.

Basically, in order to move forward with my life and move to Texas or Colorado I need that F off of my transcript. I do not want to explain to potential employers that I was subjected to disability harassment and retaliation. I want it to be a non-issue. So it looks like I'll need a lawyer for that.

Should all else fail, there are always uncivil means to resolve these issues.

court, rant, problems, bad stuff
