White Stripes FTW
Big Day Out 2005 was the most fun I had in a while whilst being baked in the horrible, horrible sun that I was totally unprepared for. Iggy Pop went for WAY too long, Gerling sucked balls and for some reason also played a terrible set with complete failure to get the crowd going, but the Living End, The Kings of Leon were good - hell even Franz Ferdinand was tolerable except for the 17 yr old chicks around me giving me the shits and totally discouraging me from feeling good about the music. But, the STRIPES - the Stripes put on an amazing show for everybody, and compared to everyone's half assed attempts at setting up the stage the Stripes' set looked very special from the moment roadies dressed in immaculate black suites and red shirts started setting up. MMM. It's been a good week what with getting paid from work, finding excellent shorts that fit, and the BDO, although I wasn't very awake the next day at work. Hahaha.
The set looked like this - red & white everything, black piano. Jack may be crazy but he sure knows how to put on a show.
On a related note, I've lost my phone and won't be contactable for a while obviously because of it. If you ring my phone and somebody picks up who denies knowing me, kindly ask for him/her to somehow contact me to return my phone and if they refuse kindly shout much verbal abuse at him/her, and if you can triangulate the signal so that I may beat the crap out of them then that's good too.. :D
