I have no specific reason to be writing a entry except for the fact that I don't want to go to bed just yet and can't be arsed to watch or do anything. (Dear Semagic, do not tell me that arsed is not in my user dictionary.) I've not really been up to a great deal recently - except getting a cold which has led to yet another lingering cough (third bloody time this year!). Mostly my life has consisted of watching anime, doing a few shifts at work, watching more anime, writing up entries for anime planet which includes - of course - watching more anime. Though last week I did go to see Craig, went into a few shops to get the last few Christmas pressies I needed to get, then we grabbed a Burger King (mmm healthy) and went back to his where we dossed and chatted. I am currently made of fail really. I have a little list of productive things to do, none of which I have actually done. Actually I'll make a nice little list here, maybe then I'll get my butt into gear and do some of them.
- Make Anya's Christmas present(s).
- Make a new bag and sample bracelet for Children's Uni
- Finish knitting this brown scarf and start knitting the mountain of other ones I intend to do.
- Outline and colour the three Lord of The Rings chibis that I started (Gandalf the Grey is outlined and has his base colours, Gandalf the White and Gimli are still at scanned in stage.
- Draw the rest of the Lord of the Rings chibis that I've been meaning to do.
- Get off my butt and do the super-secret pressie of surprise (REALLY need to do this one soon or I'll just be made of suck and never do it - which is really bad because I really WANT to do it
- Write out my study cards for Hiragana and Katakana (this involves actually going through the katakana book)
- Starting on the rather scarily epic looking journey of learning Kanji - the book arrived and it scares me a little but also looks uber cool/
- Design a little menu ready for Anya's Birthday meal in less than 2 weeks time. (Just as a little memento she can take home)
Actually, speaking of her birthday meal, having discussed it with her, I have now come up with a solid menu. We will be having:
Starter:
Tempura Prawns
Sweet Chilli Tuna Sushi
Main Course:
Yakitori Chicken Kebabs
Soy Beef, Shirataki Noodles and Spring Onions on Rice
Sesame Green Beans
Dessert:
Japanese Layered Fruit Salad
Green Tea Ice Cream
The Fruit Salad is Kiwi, Strawberry, Peach and Persimmon/Mango marinated in Yuzu Juice and Mirin topped with a Yogurt, Cream and Yuzu Juice topping. All are very yum. She's coming round on the 20th after I've been to work. I have a 10am shift at the central so she's gonna meet me there after my shift and we'll head back to mine where I'll cook us food and we shall eat, drink, and be merry. The week before is gonna be rather busy. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I'm working at the Brook in the mornings doing Treasure Island. The Friday I will be out in the kitchen preparing for Saturday (i.e getting as much prep work done as possible so I have little to do on Saturday). Plus also that week Craig will be coming round to exchange gifts - though whether that is on the Monday or the Thursday is yet to be decided, it depends on when my shift finishes. Also somewhere along the Christmas holidays I need to talk to a certain Miss Kattibutt about meeting up one day - though I fear that with her schedule it will most likely be in the New Year :P
Ooo, I should make a Christmas CD for the car, so that I'll be in a festive mood when driving to work! That sentence makes me feel simultaneously old and childish. Speaking of Christmas stuff, I still have another week until the decorations go up (couldn't convince my parents to put up the decorations this weekend). And I also now have my very own nativity set, which for anyone who knows me probably finds this quite amusing since I'm not at all religious. Though it may be less of a shock when I reveal that it is in fact a Bad Taste Bears Nativity set, complete with a donkey shagging a sheep.
Ooo ooo, I got Animal Crossing the other day and I'm rather enjoying it so far. It's quite good having a game that runs in real time. :) Will give more of an opinion when I've played it for longer.
Oh... I ran out of Prince of Tennis the other day. It made me sad - which in turn makes me worry about myself. I remember saying less than a year ago about how on earth could they make a 178 episode anime about TENNIS and that it looked rubbish and wasn't ever going to watch it. Then Kim and Andrew said it was good so I gave it a go and got HOOKED! 178 episodes, 22 episodes worth of OVAs, 1 movie and 1 mini movie later and I've run out and now have to desperately wait for the rest of Finals to be released and subbed. Seriously, that show should NOT be so good. It's just utter cheese, but I love it! Also anime wise I'm loving Haré + Guu - it's random jungle fun! I should really finish Code Geass (1st series) and Saiyuki (though I've been watching more of that recently and enjoying it) though I am getting into One Piece now. I had stalled on it but then I was asked if I watched One Piece and if I would do entries for three 5-minute pre-movie shorts, which I did and it reminded me why I was actually bothering to download it so I'm now back into watching it :D
Anywa, enough anime chat and general ramblings, I think that I'm gonna leave it at that for now, stop singing (and coughing) along to Fairytale in New York, and go to bed.
Nighty Night All, and good luck tomorrow Craig!!!
