Well, I figure since I have about 4 other journals, I might as well make a new one. Maybe this will be a good way to keep in touch with more people. As you can see by the time, I am such a morning person. This summer, I have slept past 7AM maybe once or twice. It's ridiculous. The problem was... all through June, I had to be at work at 7am. Then, in July, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I had summer school, which was 40 minutes away, at 8AM. And, on Mondays and Wednesdays, I have been running at 7AM because the heat has been so unbearable. So there. That's why I'm physically incapable of sleeping in. And the weekends? Yep, work at about 6AM. I usually get up earliest on the weekends. Don't think I work that hard, though... this summer, my work days were rarely over 3 hours.
Speaking of summer, I can't believe it's coming to a close! I'm very excited to go back to Marquette, but there are things I will miss about home. Tommy and Kelly are growing up soooo fast. I sound like such an old person when I say that, but I think any other "big brothers or sisters" understand where I am coming from. When you are the oldest sibiling, you almost raise your younger siblings in one way or another. When they are unhappy or grumpy, I feel like it's my responsibility to be there for them and cheer them up. Spending lots of time with them this summer has been nothing short of awesome. Sometimes they get a little annoying, though, as do any other little bro's and sis's, but I would never, ever trade them in. I'm convinced I have the coolest brother and sister. Back to summer... this one has been excellent. It's funny how different the world looks after you go through a semester of college. I completely dreaded heading back to high school every year after summer vacation, but now I am really looking forward to going back to school. I think the fact that you are now studying something that will be practical in the rest of your life kind of makes school more tolerable.
I've been working on writing a book this summer, and I have about 50 or 60 pages of stuff written down. It's very scatterbrained and such, but since I now have this live journal, I will use it as a way to do more "research" for the book. In some upcoming journal entries, I'll either post some of my thoughts or questions, and I'd love to hear back from anyone. After all, brilliance in this world is only truly achieved when people learn to combine their gifts and talents and work together. :-) Have an awesome weekend everyone!
