Crazy, crazy week. This semester, my schedule for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays goes all the way until 10pm. On MW, I tutor at the Al from 7-10, and Tuesday nights are lovely organic chem lab. Having all three of those days go so long (and involve sort of minimal homework...) made me pretty tired! BUT, on another hand, Thursday night was incredible. I sat in the room and watched my Full House DVD's while naming some organic chem compounds. It doesn't get much better than that.
It was a challenging week of practice, for sure. I did 57 miles in 6 days. We are looking great as a team, though. I'm so impressed with everybody's relentlessness to be up there to make our team better. This weekend at Minnesota, there will be 7 teams there ranked higher than us. I think to beat 2-4 of those teams is a realistic goal. We could snatch some huge at-large points by doing weell this weekend. I am VERY excited. If anyone has a really good motivational quote that they used during athletic competition that helped them and are up for sharing, send me them! I love them all.
This weekend, I was given the chance to describe myself, plain and simple, on the spot, and sadly, it was pretty difficult. Sure, I am a student, and I am a runner. What else, though? It's not realistic to say that running isn't my life. I think that anyone in a college sport can understand how much of your time that sport TRULY occupies. There is more than just the practices, lifting sessions, and competitions. In addition, you have to eat well, sleep well, keep yourself motivated and in a healthy life situation. I thought a little bit harder about what else there was to describe me. I am a people watcher, for sure. I hope one day all of my people watching will turn out to be more than just noticing stupid details... hehe. I would have to say that another thing that defines me is my status as a writer. I L-O-V-E to journal. What am I doing as a biochem major then? Someday, I will figure that out... :-)
Take care everyone. Let's not hesitate to count our blessings. We are some damn lucky kids.
