I really, really like this. I love the examination of their relationship over the long term in these vignettes.

Thank you! That does make sense, and I love that you felt that, I've always thought that kinda idea was very much key in the books, that you may grow to sympathize with characters through their POV chapters or for whichever other reasons, but that doesn't make them "good people" per se (which is rather impossible to define anyway, I guess) and I think that definitely holds true for Jaime and Cersei.

Commenting a bit late but I just found this and I have a lot of feelings. You write these two so well and I'm just in love with everything about this ♥

Even later, when they lie there in the dark, Cersei is content to listen to her brother breathing and try and match him, breath for breath, until it sounds as if there truly is only one person in the room.
This is stunning and totally them.

And the end where she feels the wound. Guh. No words.
