I pass by this small park in Leominster every day. It is in the center of town, near just about everything. Around the park we have the police station, main fire station, 3 different churches, and main street runs by it. In the center of this small park are monuments to different wars. So this little park is a nice area, with bushes and other plant like items. Walking 10 feet, I pass by 2 trashcans. Between the trashcans are some benches. Well as you pass by them today some ladies that work in the office below me were sitting on the benches eating lunch. So they finish up just as I walking back from picking up my lunch. I pass by and a lady drops by garbage on the ground and then says let the homeless people over there eat what is left of it.
How rude can you be? These people have their pride as well! Not to mention that she is right next to the garbage and she could just throw it away! I thought it was funny that the sign behind her says "$300 fine for littering, Keep Leominster Clean". It is amazing how little people value a life. She did not care about them at all. I bet she just did not want to throw away her garbage and it was easier to make an excuse. Just because you have nice clothes and items does not always mean it will be that way.
I see one guy everyone morning going through the trash in the dumpster getting out bottles and cans to return for money. I was coming one day and saw a whole trash can bag from another office with just bottles sitting outside of the dumpster. I watch the guy walk up and see him smile. He is at least trying to do something with what he can. The local coffee shop told me that he is trying to buy clothes for a job. He has two sets of clothes and is trying to buy a third. Saving bottles to buy clothes? Seems a bit odd to think of it that way. How many bottles does it take to buy clothes? Would it be worth saving bottles and digging through garbage to get bottles to buy some "clothes" for a job? How much is your job worth to you?
