Friday I headed off to Connecticon. I had a very nice time there. I met up with sarahtdl and her hubby Chris, lady_aliara and Kris (I think I spelled that one right.). I went to various panels. I saw cbeveridge as well. I went to the Dubbing and Directing panel. I did not really learn much new there, but always fun to go to. I mainly went Friday for the Adobe PhotoShop Techniques panel. I wanted to see what they were going to teach. I learned a few nice tricks. I was fun to watch how they did the process of making their web comic. The panel ended early and I headed off to the last of the Anime 101 panel. I got some lunch and headed back after that. I had a minor doctor stop and then home. I did get to watch the new Stargate SG-1/Atlantis - Battlestar Galactica night. Thus starting Scifi Fridays!
Stargate SG-1/Atlantis
SG1 started out very nice. It was different not having Jack around. You can see how things have changed from the last season to this one. People are going different ways and each person is doing their own thing. It was fun to see how one character wants them all back together. I'm very excited to see what else they are going to do!
Atlantis for me is finally not just another SG1 show. They certainly showed that the start of this season things look a little darker. I'm going to look forward to that. It was also interesting how they dealt with someone leaving the show, or at least going just part time. I am very much looking forward to seeing how the show pans out.
Battlestar Galactica
Wow, I have to say I'm loving where they are going with the show! I can't wait to see more. It certainly has potential from here on out.
One word to say, I hate cliffhangers! UGH, They seemed to have given us a few of them!
Saturday both Becca and I headed off to the con again. We were off to a very nice start for the day. It was a nice ride back down again. I was a little tired from the day before but everything felt okay. I went to the Writing Effective Review in the Anime and Gaming Industry. I found that a very interesting panel. He answered most of the questions I had while doing the presentation. Not that I ever panel on writing reviews, but was still nice to learn about it. After that was the Anime Voice Acting with Tiffany Grant and Daniel Kevin Harrison. That was a fun panel to be at. Daniel had some great answers to some of the questions. It was certainly a good laugh at times. The Anime Industry Panel was after that. It was pretty much the same as others. Some of the questions that were asked I have heard the answers to before, but still fun to go to. It was food and relaxing after that. We headed as a group out to eat. That was a lot of fun. After that Becca and I did some anime watching and then headed for home. I was exhausted when I got home. I had a great time at the con over all.
Sunday I pretty much spent the day relaxing we had dinner with the in-laws and that was that. Monday was a normal work day. Things went pretty much as they always do. I did finally pick up my Harry Potter book. Yes I know I could have got it way before. But I had to finish my re-read of the books before it, Which I finished this morning before work. I have officially started the book. I'm not that far into the book right now. With work and I might not get to finish it until this weekend. In my re-read of book 5 I had forgotten just how much of the book I did not remember. Thus always good to do some re-reads every now and then.
Tonight would normally be book club meeting, but not happening this month. I'll just have to be patient for next month. So tonight is work night. I did pick up Place Promised in Our Early Days. I'm hoping to watch that tonight. It is a debate to watch or read right now. I might flip a coin and see which happens. At least I have a nice massage to look forward to tomorrow. :) It will mainly be feet, but I need it. They have been bothering me. Well back to working for me. I have a lot of work to get caught up on for premiere.
