Orientation

Well, things are going interestingly at orientation. I met my roomie...who seems to be...energetic. So much so in fact that she bruised my arm with her constant dragging me around--literally. Seems she's so excited about things that she doesn't trust me to follow along on my own. I'm not sure she likes me so much. But I've met friends of hers, Read more... )

When Sophie approaches and gets grabbed by Cecile, I feel a pang of sympathy for her. Well, that's a step in the right direction, isn't it? Maybe I can do the maturity thing, after all. Meeting the really cute Wyatt hadn't hurt. I smile and wave at her, and attempt to draw her away from Cecile's clutches. "Heh, it's pretty crazy here today, huh? Are you going on the campus tour next? I haven't seen Dawn yet, I hope she's not lost," I ramble a little aimlessly.

"Yeah, I totally didn't realize how crowded it was gonna be," I say, trying to keep the normal vibe going. "Or how much junk they were gonna pass out to us, Wyatt had to get me a bag 'cause I forgot my backpack." I nod toward our new friend.

"Just met him, but he seems really nice. He's rcruiting for a new frat and helped me out with all my junk." I hold up the bag he'd gotten for me. "Oh, and inviting us all to parties later on! The fun part of college."

"Well, Dawn and I wet to one last fall that was a little on the overly wild side, but I'm sure they aren't all that bad," I admit. And okay, maybe a little of my ignoring the badness of the other party is 'cause Wyatt seems so nice and polite and all. And yes, cute doesn't hurt either.

"Uh, well I hadn't, but Cassie just gave me a great idea for science credits, I'm thinking of trying astronomy out. Seems like more fun than chem or bio, for sure. How about you?" I marvel that we're having a real, normal conversation and I'm not feeling all resentful. Wonder if I'd ruin it by apogizing?

"Wow, I wish I knew what I wanted to study, that would make things a lot easier. I think I'm just gonna get some pre-reqs out of the way and stuff." I finger the strings on the bag. "I never really thought about it that much, so I guess I've got exploring to do."

"I guess," I say, and then smile a little. "Or it could lead to me to be one of those people who takes six or seven years to graduate." I shrug. "I'm bound to go broke and then end up with a degree that I can't get a job with," I say cheerfully.
