Porcelain sky

Porcelain sky

I’ve been waiting by the door
Hoping you’ll mend my broken heart
Tell me the war is no more
That we’ll never have to be apart

I’ve been standing, under porcelain skies,
Our porcelain sky
I’ll keep waiting, for our porcelain skies,
Our porcelain sky

I’m denying that I don’t have to cry,
My eyes have run dry
I’ll keep hoping that I don’t realize
You might never come back

Every letter brings me closer
To your warm laugh, infectious smile
Yet I’ve never felt so alone
Though you say it’s just for a while
‘Till you’re with me, by my side

I’ve been left here asking, wondering why?
Just wondering why?
I’ve been trying not to see through your lies,
Your porcelain lies

I’ll keep waiting, under porcelain skies,
Our porcelain sky
I’m denying, yet I still have to try
But you’re not coming back

So here I am,
Listening for your footsteps
Jumping at every sound I hear
Holding my breath,
Hoping to death
That you will soon be here

You’ve got to let me know
How this will end
Will you be here tomorrow?
Will I wrap my arms around your sorrow?
And take you in so you can mend

Under porcelain skies
Our porcelain sky
