Hey kids! I finally have a working computer, working digital camera, AND the software to upload pictures from my camera onto my computer! Is the apocalypse coming? Did hell freeze over? Who knows! Whatever the cause, I now fully intend to inundate you with pictures of stuff and things. Well, really just of my pets and of the crazy hail storm that happened last week.
Don't worry, those of you who couldn't give a crap: it's all behind the cut!
First, my pets!
This is Bayu:
You might have heard about him in any of the bajillion posts I've written about my birds. But as a refresher course: he's 11 years old; he's a rescue; I got him last June; he plucks his feathers; he talks a lot; he loves giving beak kisses.
Here's Bayu checking out the camera...
...trying to eat the camera...
...beating up a foraging toy...
...and hanging upside down like a monkey.
This is Cah'ya:
In case you've forgotten: she's one year old; I got her from a breeder in August; she's missing her back toes; she's probably autistic; she breaks all the rules; she's a challenging but somehow still endearing death metal chick.
Here she is lording over her domain (she totally wears the pants in my little ekkie family)...
...romping around on her FBI obstacle training course (she'll totally be a kickass agent)...
...being uncharacteristically adorable...
...stepping AWAY from the camera...
...and finally, playing a rare game of Peekaboo.
And last but not least (although, yeah, kinda least)...Kody!
And let's do a serious face this time:
Whatever. He's super cute either way.
So now you know what my pets look like. Now you know they actually exist, I'm not just making them up.
Ok, onto the hail storm! They're calling this one Super Mega Hailstorm '09 In Which Emily's Car Was Totalled But Miraculously No Windows Were Broken Or Even Cracked. It's a long name, but I'm sure they'll abbreviate it somehow.
Last Thursday, hail this size dumped on Austin:
This is the hail in our front yard, with my poor totalled car:
THESE ARE THE ICES THAT HIT MY WINDSHIELD BUT DID NOT CRACK IT. My windshield is Superman, even if the rest of my car is not:
Sideyard (taken from the second story while it was still raining and hailing):
And back yard:
This one is too pretty. Pretty hail.
Oh! And also, I've been thinking about getting my hair cut like this:
Thoughts?
