OML - One Month Later

Oct 06, 2006 04:49

Okay okay, so it's not a year, it's a month, but whatever. Things have changed.

I'm happily romanced by Kon, and moving in with Babs at the end of November. Robin seems to be spreading his wings, and may finally take flight from me. Thank god. I've totally ditched the whole 'school' thing - it's really a life choice, the Bat...And I decided to choose something else. Maybe I WILL get an 'S'shield...

Anyways, thanksgiving approaches, and this will be the first without families for both Kon and I, so we're spending it together. Turkey and everything. On that note...here is a recipie for my favorite dessert, and how to make it more thanksgiving flavored.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, or, Pumpkin Cheesecake

Ingredients - Dough
(peanut butter version only)

260g baker's flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
225g brown sugar
55g sugar
1/2 lb. butter
450g peanut butter
2 eggs

1) cream together butter and sugar
2)add gradually the eggs and peanut butter
3) mix in the dry ingredients
4) split in four balls, wrap in saran, and chill in freezer
5) roll the dough over saran wrap and put in the pie mold (use a pie mold with a removable bottom, usually called a torte pan)
6) pre-bake and cool.
(just LOOK at it and see if it looks...you know...crusty. The damn recipie doesn't have a time)

Ingredients - Filling

450g plain cream cheese
450g smooth peanut butter

OR

700g plain cream cheese
225g Pumpkin pie filling
170g sugar
9 oz whipping cream

1) whip the whipping cream
2) cream together sugar and cream cheese
3) Add in peanut butter (unless you aren't making peanut butter pie...)
OR
3) fold in whipped cream
4) fold in pumpkin filling
5) spread over cooled shell
6) Chill the peanut butter pie OR bake the cheesecake in the oven until lightly golden and firm to touch

Eat, laugh, get fat.

Happy thanksgiving people.
