Mmmm, I must say my pumkin pie is very delicious! And it makes a wonderful breakfast even without the whipped cream (of which I accidently left at my Mother in-laws house along with who knows what else). :s Have you ever had it where the pumkin is just slightly burnt on the very edges of the golden brown crust? I just love that taste. :p Of course I didn't burn it on purpose, nor did I blunder the main course on purpose. *blushes and hides* It's a good thing we had leftover smoked turkey from the night before, because the prime rib roast was hours from being done when everything else was ready. I stared at that cookbook, put it down then went back to it about ten times, thinking "no way this eight pound roast is going to cook in 30 minutes...but here it is in black and white...6-8 lbs; 'Roast Time' 25-30 minutes. Hmmmm" LOL! I'm such a ditz and truly blonde...in tiny lil words underneath the column header for Roast Time were the words (per pound) and even though I looked at the book ten times and have cooked this every year for at least ten years, I didn't catch it. roflmao I call it major distraction, can't walk and chew gum at the same time...no, just plain silly. Oh well, we still had a wonderful time! :) And I have circled those words with black magic marker for next time! *blushes and hides*
I hope all of your holidays were as fun as mine was! Gosh we had tons of family everywhere! I don't think we stopped running all weekend and into Tuesday. But everyone got along beautifully, laughter was everywhere and it seemed that we were all in the Christmas spirit, just as it should be. Even those who usually wallow in drama were a hoot to be around. :p
It was a nice break from the usual caos...different caos can be good too. lol Life and work is still the same for me...family keeps me running, and I'm still struggling to get everything done at work while training my new boss for the third time in my career. Yup, it was as I feared, he has no experience, no drive, and expects to slide along while I do it all. Oh, but he has a college degree. On the bright side, another job was posted with promotion potential to start out and then another promotion after one year. :D But the competition is still fierce. I'll get one eventually, I've not lost all faith! ;) And we are still remodeling, *sigh* going on six months now, to get the living room done. It's so hard when we are so busy with our jobs and family...but we will get there, I'm sure. lol And my health has improved; the sleep apnea is almost gone with the use of my machine, my allergies settled down somewhat for the winter and I'm going three times a week to the physical therapist to work on other stressers. :)
I'm going to have a little time for other pleasures too, this week. My daughter has promised me she will finally watch all of the Harry Potter movies with me, I'm halfway through Tolkien's Father Christmas Letters and I get to figure out how to work my new 'Zune' digital media player. :D It will be great to have at the gym...exercise is usually soooo boring! LOL
*Huggles and cuddles you all!*
