When I woke up I called Barnes and Noble to see if I could schedule an interview this afternoon (Doug needed to get something in Greensboro) but the man said that he couldnt do it today and he gave six positions to people who interviewed earlier in the week. Basically, I didnt get the job. Doug told me to call Michael's and ask about the status of my application and tell them that I am really interested in working there. I need a job.
Today was our last official day of Utopia. We have our exam on Friday. Xander's group finished the Watauga College video and it was marvelous. It made me want to cry, really. I am still not done with the pamphlet- I still have to work on the inside. I printed out the outside yesterday and it looks super. My mad yearbook skills have come in handy.
We brought in the tie-dyed Invisible Musical Ninja Brigade shirts and gave them to the people who's shirts had been stenciled. Doug and I are going to finish them this afternoon.
Today, Gabe, Ashlee and I went to Black Cat for lunch. Then Doug came right as we were finishing, so Gabe went to Espresso News and Ashlee and I stayed and talked to Doug. Then Ashlee, Doug and I went to Espresso News to meet up with Gabe. We didnt see him there, but we saw Jessie and she said she kicked Gabe out because he was distracting her from her paper. He does have a tendency to do that. I was reading some book about decorating a house with energy, and Doug handed me this book called "When I Get Old, I Will Wear Purple." It was a book of poetry written by old ladies and about old ladies, and it was one of the most beautiful things I have read. I was sitting on the floor in the corner of this nice nook and I thought about Emma and her Gran, and I wanted to teleport to Emma's house and hug her. So I went outside and called Emma and she read me a lovely poem about summer that she wrote yesterday. I told her I missed her. I love Emma. We talked about college and love and it was very romantic, really.
Doug told me when we were alone that we are not allowed to be seen hanging out at the LLC anymore. Evidently, somebodee told Joe that they "wished they could spend as much time with Doug as Cassandra does." We only have 3 days until our Utopia final- I dont know why it matters. It makes me sad that we still have to hide and also that this person likes him. I can't wait to be in Greensboro.
Today has been a beautiful day in Boone, and I am very grateful for my friends, and the sun, and the snow.
