...Things I will henceforth never swear/bitch/complain about or be anything but thankful for at MIT:
1) Independence
2) Kitchen facilities, even though they are what they are
3) the size and layout of campus
4) distance to the grocery store
5) the size of the rooms in MacG
6) anything about MacG as a building and dorm. (I reserve the right to bitch about people, however.)
7) IS&T
8) The fact that we still have heat on in late May
9) Tech Shuttle
10) Distance to public transport
11) Crappy wireless signal
12) Vassar street construction.
13) Hours of operation
14) The fiction section, or lack thereof, in Hayden
In other news, I'm getting the impression that Geology departments all over the country are a) student friendly in the extreme b) informal and c) run by a secret group of Jewish mothers who have made it their personal missions to make sure no undergrad is lonely, unhappy or unfed. Also, that geologists probably have the highest average alcohol tolerance as a profession than any other (academic) group. I've met two Vicki analogues and my advisor (while slightly inaccessible) is some unholy combination of enthusiastic and chill. Like a cross between John Southard and Tim Grove.
That is all.
