Lots of stuff since before the BLB. Long story short: LS pwnage, as expected. Or rather, as needed for the wrath of Grant not to descend upon the team at large. Not something I need to be around for.
Aside from that, just a lot of work happening. I am rapidly beginning to hate all of physics, not just the parts that are currently afflicting me, ( Read more... )

Certain person who was denied said wish got into CMU, so things are more calm I think right now.

I know it's nigh-impossible, but try not to stress too much over DOE. What will happen will happen.

You're more than welcome to come visit, we're having a practice starting at 7:30AM on Thursday. I think it'd cheer everyone up to see you, it's been a little depressing as of late (and considering how much I used to look forward to practice, that's saying something.)

Seems to be a theme. He's the third person I've heard of who got rejected from MIT and then went to CMU.
Or maybe it's a function of the kids. Who knows. Glad to hear that things are calmer.
I'll see if I can haul my sorry behind out of bed in time for practice. You do know that's an absolutely *obscene* time to be awake, right? As in, the equivalent of this to college time is about 4 in the morning....
Anyway, glad to hear that things aren't as crazy as my mind says they should be. Or that you're dealing with them better than I am.

Are the other two you've heard of (as in, other than the one that you've heard of through me) as hardcore jackass Republicans as he-who-shall-not-be-named?

7:30 in the morning? No, I think that's a pretty obscene time needing very little translation; "7:30 in the morning" in college time is along the lines of "7 fucking 30 in the fucking morning". Also known as "definitely bedtime regardless of problem sets' state of completeness because the sun is in my goddamn eyes".

Yeah, I've noticed that... very strange. But I wouldn't peg him as the same type of person as that other person last year to whom the same thing happened.

I know it's an obscene time. I've been getting up at 11 the past two days. It's going to be pain.

No, all three people are very different. I do agree with that. Hardcore republican, the geeky popular guy and the non-so-popular geek.
Living the life of luxury....11 am. Enjoy that. I'll try to show up. And the above description of 7:30 is apt. And one I'd rather not re-experience.
