Nothing...^^;;

Sachi Kou was a fashion model.

It was something else she did in her spare time when she wasn’t running around kicking youma ass or instructing the new recruits. It was really amazing sometimes though, that she could still take some time to wear pretty dresses and have Yaten take pictures of her for fashion magazines. Then again, this was Sachi Kou, the girl who wasn’t happy unless she was doing something. She was able to keep herself busy easy enough.

Being the leader of the current batch of Starlights was not an easy task. On top of protecting Kinmoku, she also took care of her fellow Starlights (whether they wanted her to or not) and her care went beyond that of the battlefield. She was usually like a mother to them, making sure that they were all doing fine and were happy. If they weren’t either of the two, she’d move heaven and hell if she could just to make things better. It wasn’t easy at times, but she embraced it wholeheartedly, seeing it as something any typical person would do if they were in her position.

Of course, her care and concern extended to the new recruits. Their training and education wasn’t easy for both trainer and trainee, especially with the current batch of would-be Starlights. Tokiko or Sailor Star Wisher, was the most manageable of the three. She was very enthusiastic about training and schooling, like she was with everything else. She was generally a sweet girl who quickly rose to her calling of a Starlight and never gave anyone any real problems. No one really could find fault in her aside from the fact that she could be a bit aggravating sometimes, but that tended to happen, given how unfailingly cheerful she was.

The big problems were the two other Starlight trainees, Suzuki and Rai. Admittedly, those two were far more inept at everything than Tokiko. Both were excellent during simulations and exercises and there were nothing but praises for them with regards to their schoolwork. Unfortunately, both were also stubborn in their own little ways and it didn’t help things that they conflicted far too much. Conflicting wasn’t even the proper word to describe what those two were. Their disagreements and arguments were the kind that could have made Seiya and Kira proud and that was not a good thing. They were both headaches and it did not help that they seem to like arguing during the wee hours of the night.

So between taking care of her fellow Starlights, training recruits and defending Kinmokusei, where did Sachi Kou, Sailor Star Enchanter, find the time for herself and for modeling clothes? Well, it somehow managed to fit in there somewhere and her modeling made her happy, despite the fact that she hadn’t really been too keen in highlighting her enchanting beauty before.

It was something totally different for her to do and of course she couldn’t really say ‘no’ to Yuri Kou, who owned her own styling line and designed the prettiest clothes. Sachi was never really one to back off from new experiences. She tried it once and grew to enjoy it, so she agreed to do it whenever Yuri requested it of her. Of course it was an added incentive that she got to keep the clothes she modeled and it was a privilege she had enjoyed for a very long time. However, now was one of those rare times that she didn’t seem to.

Piles upon piles of all sorts of clothes were scattered on the floor regardless of type, style, or color. Blouses, socks, pants, skirts, shirts, and shorts were all over the place: on the floor, on her plain white king-sized bed, hanging out and vomited by her walk-in closet, draping from hangers on doorknobs, tossed over chairs and her cherry wood vanity. And in the middle of it all, with just her white slip on and completely barefoot was Sachi. Her wavy maroon hair was down and flowing against her back with her hands on her hips, biting lightly, nervously against her lower lip. Wide, deep blue eyes were looking to and fro apprehensively at the chaos the clothes made.

She let out a small sound of distress from her throat, a helpless whimper and she said for probably the hundredth time that past hour,

“I don’t have anything to wear…”

“Ah…” From her perch on the bed, sitting with her legs drawn by her side, Emiko was sweatdropping. In the middle of reading a novel, Sachi had come in and begged her to help her get ready for her date. Emiko didn’t know how she would help, but conceded. Anything to help a friend, of course. Now, as she was looking at a nervous Sachi and her mess of a room, the white-blond Defender was trying to smile in comfort, but it was difficult, especially now when the whole fiasco was just ridiculous. The whole situation was just so absurd and she really had no clue if Sachi really needed her to be around for this.

Sachi was going on a date with Yasuo Midori and it was just a “pretend” date. It was much like their “pretend” boyfriend-girlfriend relationship that they hatched one lazy afternoon when they probably had too much sun and with only each other for company. Actually, it was part of making the “pretend” seem “real” to people and once more, Emiko thought it ridiculous, not that she was going to say anything about it.

It was funny, really. The “pretend” relationship was hatched out of desperation for getting rid of unwanted attention from pushy, pick-up-lining admirers. It was a double arrangement; Sachi would keep the drooling girls away from Yasuo while Yasuo would thwart away whatever male nuisance there was to Sachi. What was intriguing was that they would end up thinking of getting into a “pretend” relationship with each other, of all people.

They were both very good-looking, very attractive, very perfect-for-the-other and very much falling, whether they both knew it or not. It had long been obvious ever since they’ve started to spend time together as a “couple”. They shared a bond and an intimacy that was getting stronger with each meeting. They didn’t notice, but the smiles they shared, the way they held hands, and how they looked at each other were becoming fonder and the line between “pretend” and “truth” had long been blurred.

If it were all pretend, Sachi would not have cared too much about what she was going to wear on her date with Yasuo, or Midori as she called him now. She was not one to take too much time worrying about something that should all be a game. She wasn’t even the kind that would have entered into a “pretend” relationship, but she did. Now she was fretting about what she was going to wear on her date with “her” Midori.

Or was it really her Midori?

“Sachi-san, I’m sure you do.” Emiko managed to say after a while even as Sachi continued on standing there, looking slightly panicked and a whole lot nervous. She was worrying her lip, dark eyebrows drawn together in a distressed line. She was moving around picking through clothing and discarding them with just a glance. Her gestures became more and more shaky and she won’t stop worrying her lower lip, a nervous compulsive gesture.

“I can’t do this.” Sachi began, her voice sounded distracted as she tossed a white peasant’s blouse over her shoulder. Her speech got quicker and louder as she continued on unconsciously working her way towards her bed through her clothes, rejecting them along the way. “I’m going to look terrible because I don’t have anything good to wear. Midori’s going to think I’m really a total spaz. I’m going to choke. I’m going to say the wrong things again. I’m going to-“

“Sachi-san-“

“-mention the Horsemen or Hakyouku again and he’s going to close off. Then we’re not going to talk all night and he’ll hate me and he’ll-“

“Sachi-san.”

“-never speak to me again! And I’m going to be so sad because, because…”

“Sachi-san…”

Vivid blue eyes were suddenly on Emiko. Sachi had paused, discovering that she was standing right there in front of her fellow Starlight and good friend with not a small amount of surprise. Unable to do anything else, Emiko offered her a gentle smile and Sachi just broke, wailing in her panic and glomping on to her friend for comfort.

“Emiko-chaaaaaaaaaa~~n!”

Again, Emiko was not able to do anything initially but sweatdrop as her friend dove at her and almost knocked both of them to the floor. She was quick to recover as she held the other girl against her in a hug, sighing softly as she soothingly stroke the back of her head. “Sachi-san…”

“Emiko, I don’t know what’s wrong with me!” Sachi fretted, burying her face by the crook of Emiko’s neck and shoulder, muffling her words a bit. Emiko continued on stroking the back of her head, listening quietly. “I mean…This is all just pretend right? I’m not really Midori’s girlfriend…Yasuo-san’s, I mean…We’re not together. I don’t need to dress up for him. I shouldn’t even be nervous. We’re just friends…We’re just…”

Emiko smiled slightly as she listened to Sachi’s words, taking note of the confusion she heard in them. Poor Sachi, she really didn’t see. She could really be so oblivious sometimes…

And it is one thing Yasuo-san finds endearing in her…Among a lot of other things though he doesn’t seem to see yet…

“Emiko-chan…Is there something wrong with me?” The Starlight leader’s voice was small, sounding so different from the usual cheerful ring in her chatter or the firm, determined tone when she spoke of serious business. Emiko shook her head slightly, still smiling vaguely.

“No, Sachi-san…I guess it’s just normal don’t you? It’s a date…You would want to look presentable at least ne?”

The maroon head settled against Emiko’s shoulder nodded slightly, but on she continued, speaking in rare shyness and insecurity. “But…I know that, but…I’ve never been so nervous before…I…I don’t know what to do…I’m so concerned of a lot of things…I want to look…More than just presentable for…Midori…I want him to smile. I want him to enjoy his time with me. I want him to…Ask me to do this again…”

“He’ll be here in fifteen minutes.”

Gray eyes.

Pale skin.

Expressionless face.

“Hisa-chan! Don’t do that!”

Hisa, who just suddenly appeared beside Emiko and was peering disconcertingly into her face, barely showed any indication that she felt Sachi fwap her. A short fleeting glance at her arm was all the reaction she gave before she just stared again. If she was amused that Sachi was on her feet again and looking stricken as she held a hand by her fast-beating heart or that Emiko was sitting there sweatdropping like there was no tomorrow, she gave no such inkling. She stayed on her perch by Emiko, staring at them blankly as always as she sat back on her legs and held her hands by her lap. She looked like a doll, a creepy, gothic doll. The kind that you didn’t play with unless you wanted to be cursed.

No one noticed until then that Kaida was standing by the door, his shoulder pressed lightly against the doorframe. As usual, Shii was laced around his neck and seemed to be sleeping. He had his arms crossed over his chest as he watched the tableau before him with his usual neutral expression. Piercing golden eyes flicked to Sachi and actually spoke quietly, asking in his otherwise neutral, quiet voice.

“Shouldn’t you be hurrying?”

“He’s coming in fifteen minutes.” Again that was Hisa. She hadn’t moved an inch.

Silence.

Sachi’s baby blue star clock that sat by her bed was ticking. It moved its long hand.

Sachi was still staring at Hisa in blank shock.

Hisa was staring right back.

Emiko was sweatdropping.

Kaida shook his head.

“Your date…”

Sachi stared at him then and something seemed to click.

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

Emiko giggled nervously. “Sachi-san…”

Hisa’s head turned to the clock. “Fourteen minutes…”

And at that, Sachi Kou, Sailor Star Enchanter, Starlight leader, good friend, mother hen, all-around busybody, sometimes-spaz, and “pretend” girlfriend of Yasuo Midori suddenly came back to herself.

She was confused. She was nervous. She evidently wanted to go out with Yasuo Midori again if he deemed her worthy enough, judging from their experience that night. She wanted him to be happy. She wanted him to smile…

Vivid blue eyes widened comically at the tail-end of her epiphany.

“I STILL DON’T HAVE ANYTHING TO WE~~AR!!”

Emiko sighed, smiling still as she watched Sachi dive into her sea of clothes and desperately find anything to match. She was wailing and worrying her lower lip as she settled on a white halter top that always did look flattering on her. Forgetting all about modesty and bashfulness, she peeled off her slip right then and there and tossed it somewhere forgettable and slipped the top on.

Hisa was holding out a black peasant skirt that would fall to about mid-calf and seemed to smile very slightly as Sachi just grabbed it and pulled it on, almost falling all over herself at the attempt.

Then there was Kaida who was still leaning by the doorframe, looking neutral, looking calm and before his feet were one of Sachi’s black, stiletto sandals that always made her legs look even longer than they did. It was a good choice and one that Sachi seemed to appreciate as she strapped them on to her feet.

The final touches were small diamond studs on her ears and three gold bangles that hung around her left wrist. Then a small black handbag that Sachi managed to salvage from under the pile of clothes by her bedside table. With quick applications of light make up, a spitz of perfume and running a comb through her hair, she was done. She turned, worrying her lip again.

“Do I look okay?” She smiled tentatively. “Decent enough?”

Kaida looked to Emiko. Hisa was just staring still. Emiko took it upon herself to speak for everyone, smiling brightly.

“More than decent, Sachi-san. You’re beautiful. You always have been.”

A blush quickly marred her cheeks at Emiko’s words, making Emiko giggle in amusement.

“Mou…” Sachi kicked absently at the carpet at her feet as she looked at the floor. “Emiko-chan…No more -san ne…”

“Oh gomen…”

All of them turned to the direction of the door when they heard a knock. All eyes turned to Sachi who stiffened suddenly, biting hard on her lip.

Kaida straightened and disappeared to answer the door.

Hisa got up and followed him.

Emiko went to follow them, but not before giving Sachi an encouraging smile. “Ganbatte ne.”

Sachi nodded, taking a deep breath.

“Arigato.”

Emiko giggled, winking a bit mischievously. “Tell me if he kisses you later ne?”

“Emiko-cha~n!”

“Sachi. Yasuo-san is here.”

“H-hai, Hisa-chan…”

“See you later.”

“Aa…”

Enjoy yourself ne? Sachi-chan…
