More Hetalia Stuff. XD; Move Along Non-Fans~
Man but they're freaking cute. XDD; LOL They pair Arthur up with so many people, yeah, but this picture really makes me go awwww. XDD; It's not just my love for Gilbo, but I've always thought that these two could have an interesting dynamic. They would make an interesting pair of friends, as evidenced in futsunoseikatsu where they have a tough love kind of relationship. And the possibilities of girl!PrussiaxEngland are very entertaining, hahaha. Ah, if only they could have more interactions in canon. Gilbert is genderbended in the pic. XD What can I say? As cute as boy-boy and girl-girl pairings could be, I'm still a het fan at heart. HET-talia? XDD; LOL JEEZ. So yeah. I hope to get some ideas for a fem!PrussiaxEngland fic soon. Lord knows I've gotten loads of ideas on Hetalia fics lately. XD;
1. Taiwan and Her White Boyfriend
So I got this idea while I was reading The Dimsum of All Things by Kim Wong Keltner. Basically it's about a Chinese-American girl who somehow gets reconnected to her Chinese roots. The book vividly described the environment she lived and grew up in, as well as the Chinese-American-ness of her family. Funnily enough, her elder brother reminded me of firebird88's Roy Mustang. XD; Especially when he was smugly displaying his awesome Chinglish linguistic prowess. Taiwan, who's characterized as a hip and head-strong young woman, just somehow came alive in my head and I imagined her taking non-Asian boyfriend. Of course it'd cause chaos among the Asian family of nations. XD; I can just imagine China vehemently opposing it and causing hilarious international chaos. I still have no clue about who her boyfriend is, though. XD;
Some lines: "...Why don't you just date Hong (Kong), aru?" "...No! It would be like dating my brother!"
(Given that Canada is the boyfriend...) "AMERICA! YOU TELL YOUR BROTHER TO STEP OFF! YOU OWE ME THIS,
ARU!!"
2. Spain-Philippines Centered Fics
This was inspired by a recent viewing of Jose Rizal. Basically I want to write these fics:
a. Spain, after reading the Noli Me Tangere, finally realizes that he could not hold on to Philippines much longer.
b. Spain goes to see Dr. Jose Rizal, the author of Noli Me Tangere, as he is imprisoned in Fort Santiago and talks with him about Spain, the Philippines, and sees what he's all about.
c. Philippines visits Dr. Jose Rizal the night before he is executed and inspires him to write his last poem, Mi Ultimo Adios.
d. The first time Spain sets foot on Philippine soil with Ferdinand Magellan, meets the Philippines, and promptly gets his ass kicked. XD; (inspired by eternalfayt 's ideas on a sketch she wants to make of Philippines-tan owo)
e. The Treaties of Tordesillas and Zaragoza: The world is divided between Spain and Portugal and fledgling Philippines was supposed to be a Portugal territory, but well, Spain saw her first. (Inspired by candesceres ' OC!Portugal, whom I wanted to write with. XD; Don't know how this would work, really, but I think it'd be fun to find out.)
f. Spain and Philippines being pleasant as they watch the melding of their cultures in one special school in the Philippines, Instituto Cervantes.
3. The Secret Nation Service
Basically, I like to think that the Nations all have these human assistants who help them with official, maybe even some mundane, everyday stuff. XD Of course these assistants know that the Nations do exist in human form and they keep their real identities a secret, while helping them with stuff. This idea was born out of an internal dialogue where I wondered why American Cowboys/Tycoons/etc. and English Lords dominate the romance novel scene and how England wouldn't really fit the English Lord stereotype. XD; Uh, yeah, weird connection, lol, but there you go~ You'll see why~
So far, I've only come up with two assistants. They don't have names yet, so for now let's call them Arthur's assistant and Francis' assistant.
Arthur's Assistant: She's in her mid-twenties with chocolate brown hair that's usually pulled back in a sensible French twist and wears glasses. Don't let her prim and proper appearance fool her though. She isn't a meek and timid miss. She is fiercely intelligent and armed with a wry sense of humor that I'm sure would make Arthur proud. It's just that she's a romance novel fan and she kind of expected Arthur to be some beefcake English lord. XD; She is a bit disappointed when she meets him the first time, but she gets over it and pretty soon she's acting like an older sister to the former pirate and delinquent, one Arthur Kirkland aka England. It's as if being taller and older-looking than him gives her the right to treat him with elder sisterly affection. XD;
Francis' Assistant: She reminds me of one of those Bond ladies, a femme fatale who exudes sex appeal and danger. She must have been a former spy for the French secret service or something. XD She's a bit of a daredevil and she's always looking for excitement. Given Francis' penchant for trouble, she always has to step in to get him out of stuff, and she seems to enjoy doing it. Plus she isn't really that strict with him, so good for Francis and woe to everyone else. XD; I think she and Francis are similar in some ways and that makes it easy for them to get along and understand each other. They're probably pretty close. I can imagine them hanging out casually at times and they probably also slept together at
times when they got drunk together, haha. XD;
4. Gen Bad Touch Trio Fic
I love these three. XD And I'd really love it if I could contribute to the small collection of fics about them out there. I'm looking to write a Gen Fic, you know, just the three of them hanging out and getting into trouble together. Most possibly/probably drunk or in prison. XD; Have you guys heard of the quote that says, "A true friend would bust you out of jail, but your best friend would be right in there beside you and say, "Man, that was awesome."", or something like that? That quote is just sooo perfect for them. It'd be lovely to have some cameos of Germany, Romano, Arthur, etc. in the fic too. Hehe. XD
5. Arthur/Gilbo (fem!Gilbo) Fic/s
I don't have any concrete ideas for these fics yet, but I would love to write something about them. XD Plus eternalfayt 's streaming of GilboxArthur pictures are really feeding the urge. Come on ideas! Start springing up like mushrooms!
Ehehehe. XD; Sorry for the constant bombardment of Hetalia nowadays. It's just that I don't have anything else going for me, really. Work is being like work and nothing exciting's been happening...
Well, this morning I finally got registered to vote in the upcoming elections. It was a bitch getting up so early on a Saturday morning, but I managed somehow. Thank goodness it didn't take us that long to get everything done and there weren't that many people. I really wasn't planning to get registered. Yes, I was planning not to vote again this upcoming elections. Why? Because like a lot of Filipinos, I believe that voting wouldn't really do anything. I mean sure, I can vote for somebody, put someone in office, but then most probably they wouldn't do anything once they're there. So what's the point? As my friend said, Philippine history has taught us that things haven't changed much since we were granted independence, which is disappointing. And even more disappointing, Filipinos have these bouts of so-called bayanihan, banding together to help one another, but at the end of the day, it's everybody for themselves. And I can understand that. Life is so hard nowadays. How can you even think of helping your country, when you can't even help yourself and the government isn't doing much of anything about it? It'd take a strong sense of nationality that I think people are lacking nowadays...
Just some thoughts.
And I brought down the mood of this entry. XD; Jeez.
