Because I am that way...

So I currently have four of this kind of aprons sitting in my to-do pile

http://www.stitchthrutime.com/1940_apron.html

You'll notice that they are trimmed in bias tape.  Lots and lots of bias tape.  On my pattern even the pockets are trimmed in bias tape.

I don't like applying bias tape.  It never goes well.

You're supposed to apply the short side to the front, then fold it over and stitch it down to encase the raw edge, right?  Well, I tried stitching in the ditch to secure the back, but it never caught and it was a bitch keeping the stitches in the ditch and not up on the tape.  Then I tries just stitching through the tape to secure the back, but that sometimes didn't actually encase the edge and came out looking crooked.  Either way I would end up having to either pick out and do over or go back and hand tack down my mistakes, and it came out looking like ass.

Please remember, I am the crazy lady who paper pieced a 54" x 54' wall quilt because having the corners even 1/8' off was too imprecise and looked too much like ass for my tastes.

*sigh*

That I am actually looking forward to this much hand sewing is rather concerning me.

There will be pictures, when I am done
