you can buy a cow for a poor family in africa, a camel, a donkey, a tool kit, support a small business and other fun things for people around the world who have nothing.
basically...you buy the item you would like (and they have things in all price ranges) and then you can put it in someone's name. that person will get a card, stating that the christmas present you bought them is helping a family living in poverty.
i bought for my parents: a cow and two months of irrigation for a farmer's fields.
coolest thing ever.
