Eternal Love

You hesitate to do the deed that will make our love eternal,
You fear the song that is unbearable to resist,
That control will be lost,
That you won’t stop,
Stuck in lust for what you desire,
In fear that you will follow your instincts,
And not your halted heart,
In fear that feelings will be forgotten,
And that your eternity will be spent in doubt,
But we don’t have eternity to make this transformation,
To make our love everlasting,
And to be marked as your equal,
With no more need for your protection,
Or for you to shield me from myself,
You have done it once before,
Saved me from the red eyed monster,
So do it once more,
Lower your lips to my skin,
And allow the fire to dawn,
So our love can finally be everlasting,
And I can watch forever go by with you at my side.
