Ok, so here is the story of what has happened to me and why I may be a little quite the next few days. *sigh*
Yesterday I had to go to the IRS to get my W2 to take to the University. They wouldn't give it to me. This all resulted in a two hour fiasco to getting it to the Univ by Yesterday to not get thrown out of classes. Bottom line it - they got it, and it is good now, just a pain in the ass to get it taken care of, of course.
I then had a final last night at 6:30. After taking that I came back home and the hubby and kids and I went to the park where we ate and the kids played. I then headed to work about 9:30.
Hillsborough St is the makor street that runs from Raleigh to Cary. The street is not a highway exactly, but a busy street with a 45 MPH speed limit. I was going about 47 or so, I had just checked it because there was no one in front of me and I worry about how fast I go if there is no one to judge my speed by. The road is very dark, something the town of Raleigh should look into BTW. I came upon a man on a bivyvle right in my headlights. I swerved incredibly hard to the right, but I hit him with the left front corner of my car. He died. The cops determined that he was drinking, a lot, and that he had no lights or relfective gear on his bike.
Sadder still, I think he was illegal, because his family was there and once they said he was dead, they just took off. The cop said they didn't even stick around to find out what would happen. How horribly sad that someone has to worry about such things when someone has died.
The cop was SO nice to me, telling me over and over how it wasn't my fault and I could not have done anything to stop it. I do believe that, but I am still upset that someone died of course.

So, I may be quite for a few days....
