Selective Bravery

The Ukrainian Army wages war against Donbass civilians much more actively than on the Russian military in Crimea. In Donbass they would shell and shatter a townhouse. Or they would kill children in Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.
So why didn't you fight the Russians in Crimea, you lions you? You didn't shoot at the Russian Black Sea Fleet ships, did you? You didn't fight to death for your land against the marines and airborne troops who captured Crimea, did you?
After surrendering Crimea, embarrassingly and without firing a single shot, for the Ukrainian military to vent their frustration against the Donbass civilians now is, perhaps, kind of dumb and unmanly.
Only Bandera's thugs were like that during the World War II. They avoided clashing directly against the Red Army. And they shot civilians in Western Ukraine, those who helped and supported the Russians.

And indeed, soldiers and officers of the former Ukrainian army, who are now heroically murdering Donbass civilians as they "fight for the united country", did not exhibit such diligence against the Crimean militias (which now partly moved to fight for Donbass), the Russian Army, and the Russian Special Forces during the Crimean Spring.
This is true despite the fact that the Ukrainian troops actually outnumbered the Russian military force that operated in February-March in the Crimean peninsula. But it is well known that during the whole Crimean Spring the Ukrainian army lost two soldiers dead:  one was shot by a sniper in Simferopol, the same sniper also shot a militia fighter, another soldier was killed in a drunken fight. The combat losses of the Ukrainian Army were 0 that time.
But they sure overcompensated against Donbass civilians - shellings and bombings are not done by the naziguard (i.e., the Ukraine National Guard). It is precisely the Ukrainian Army regiments that are commanded by career officers who do this.
