A brief but important update

A brief but important update.

1. Regarding yet another set of rumors of the death of "Motorola". Today I got in touch with competent people and I was assured that everything is OK with "Motorola". Overall, this is another hoax, which is already 11th or 12th, I honestly lost count.

2. A train with 40 tanks passed through Kharkov towards Izyum. The specific model of tanks couldn't be determined, because the source who counted the vehicles on platforms is not a specialist in armored vehicles. The source said that they looked like "ours", so this is either a fresh shipment from long-term warehouses or the next party of tanks from the Eastern Europe. The tanks are presumably intended for either the Artyomovsk or the Bakhmutka groups of the enemy.

3. Fighting continues at Shirokino. Over yesterday and tonight our side had several WIA. The enemy continues to accumulate infantry on the western outskirts of Shirokino, apparently intending to secure control over the village using the advantage in manpower and artillery. Today or tomorrow we'll get a fresh video from over there, and for now here is a great report from Shirokino during the rare minutes of calm.

Absent a proper version with English subtitles, the only option here for people who cannot understand spoken or written Russian is the so-called "drunken sailor option" - the machine translation of the machine-generated Russian transcript, which is available through the Settings Gear in the lower left corner => Subtitles/CC => Translate Captions option in the Youtube window. If you happen to have a link to a properly translated version of this video, then please send it to me or post it in the comments.

4. Videos of conversations with the Ukrainian POW in Donetsk. It was shot in the area of the Donetsk SBU by my colleagues, who went to the DPR together along with the humanitarian shipments.

5. Active work against crime continues in the DPR. They catch the "expropriators" and the "goons". The activity of the security structures on this direction is booming. Certain "expropriated" automobiles were revealed on the territory of the RF during the investigative measures, where they were actively moved during summer-autumn of 2014 within the confines of the local "business". It is also expected that the facts of stealing money allocated for salaries of militia fighters won't be left without consideration, because the complaints from the fighters of certain units were filed with the corresponding DPR organs. The work in this direction revealed one problem: anarchy and chaos ended up too entrenched in order to overcome them quickly and decisively. Despite the systemic nature and the strictness of measures that were taken, the is still a huge number of problems on this direction. A whole criminal class of sorts formed in the NAF rear, which has a lot of weapons (and sometimes even armor) in its hands, doesn't fight, but rather engages in business of varying degrees of criminality. This is somewhat reminiscent of Chechnya of late 90s.

6. The number of Chechens in Donbass increased again. Yet another group of "volunteers" arrived recently. According to one version they came as a part of the preparation for repelling a possible junta strike. According to another version, Kadyrov is trying to make up for the "chechen trace" in the Nemtsov case, which led to a conflict with the participation of the part of security organs. Overall, they won't be in excess on the eve of the upcoming events, in large part because the AFU still have an irrational fear of Chechens, which was used by some NAF units who pretended to be Chechens with the goal of demoralising the enemy.

7. The explanation from the organization MOO "Veche" (with which we used to work to ship humanitarian aid during the period of the "Crimean Spring") on the topic of legalization of the humanitarian aid to be shipped in Donbass. Those who don't quite understand the reasons for traffic jams on the border and periodically whine about that.

As I said before, the main problem is not in some evil plot, but rather in the traditional drawbacks of the Russian bureaucracy.

8. Regarding Kononov's resignation, lately I was told, so to say, a story following which he left "for personal reasons". Unfortunately I cannot disclose it for a number of reasons (it may cast a shadow on the militia). But I can note, that if this story is true, then Kononov is unlikely to return to his position after what happened. So now I bet that either "Cap" will be made the permanent minister sooner or later or that a proper replacement will be found for Kononov among the local brigade commanders, plus the return of Igor Bezler still cannot be excluded.

Plus a technical announcement.

Lately I unblocked my Facebook-account https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100005450315470, which was blocked back in January. The broadcasting of the posts from the "Bullhorn of the Totalitarian Propaganda" resumed there. So, those who preferred to read my scribbles through facebook are welcome again. The cross-posting in "Odnoklassniki" was also resumed http://ok.ru/profile/561766030926, if someone reads those, of course.
