During the weekend general Petrovsky returned into Novorossia after a quite lengthy break. He led the intelligence directorate of the DPR. For some time he stayed in Rostov and had problems with departing to the DPR territory. But apparently the way for him to return was found and so "Gloomy" is again where he started his path of the leader of the military intelligence of the DPR. Everything started with a small group, which acted from the very start of the Slavyansk saga. Those who defended Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, and Konstantinovka and other cities of the DPR during the most difficult period in the war against the fascist junta remain at the helm of the military intelligence until now.
The military intelligence gradually developed into high-class special force unit, which achieved goals of varying complexity during the war: gathering intelligence behind the front line, sabotage/reconnaissance and assault operations, working with UAVs and guiding the strikes of the DPR artillery, liquidating SRG and spotters of the enemy, fighting crime and abuse in the security structures of the DPR, and executing various orders given by the head of the DPR Zakharchenko. Typically the spetsnaz uses vehicles painted in black and the symbol of the unit is a bat on the background of a globe, which is very similar to the emblem of the military intelligence of the RF. Some people mistakenly call this unit "Russian Spetsnaz", which suggests that Russians fight there, but actually the majority of the personnel are locals who took arms after the coup in Kiev. General Petrovsky became their leader during the tumultuous spring of 2014. Actually, due to high achievements of the intelligence, general Petrovsky became the first and for a long time the only general in the DPR, until this rank was also given to Bezler for his achievements in the defense of Gorlovka.
.
At the same time, when it was needed, the GRU spetsnaz was used as a generic military unit, which is certainly not natural to it, but these tasks were also accomplished very well. Among the recent famous successful operations are: the participation of the GRU spetsnaz in the assault on Uglegorsk (which created the preconditions for creating the Debalcevo cauldron), the defense of Logvinovo during the attempt of unblocking from the side of Svetlodarsk, when the unblocking group, which included the punitive troops from "Donbass", lost 18 armored vehicles and a significant amount of infantry (actually, there was CQC against the "Donbass", a participant of it told us that they ran into the assault group of "Donbass" in the outskirts of Logvinovo and combat began at very close distance, where our guys figured things out better than the enemy), nevertheless the spetsnaz lost 5 KIA.

These people show up on camera and promote themselves quite rarely, unlike the star-commanders and star units, due to the specifics of their work, so you won't find the photos of general Petrovsky and the majority of the spetsnaz commanders on the internet. But their invisible work has always accompanied the struggle of Donbass against the Ukrainian junta. In the case of "Gloomy" and his people, during the war, the robust opinion of them was formed that these are men of action who work quite efficiently, which makes them one of the most combat-capable unit of the DPR army. The return of general Petrovsky will clearly help in the context of preparing for the probable spring campaign. And it is also worth noting that general Petrovsky became the second high-ranking official who returned into Novorossia lately, the harbinger was ataman Kozitsyn. It is hard to believe in the return of Strelkov or Bolotov, but I won't be surprised if Bezler will come back after Petrovsky.
Well, and on this occasion how can we forget the famous video from the summer, where the DPR spetsnaz says hello to the Kiev junta without revealing many faces.
