Briefly on the subject of shelling at the Donetsk airport, which became routine in the recent days.
It would seem that after losing the new terminal, the ruins of the communication tower and the radar building, the junta has nothing to do in the airport - it is already repelled from the airstrip for 1.5-2.5km and it cannot do much here without a large-scale offensive that has to do not just with the capture of the terminals but also with the capture of the settlement of Spartak and the NAF positions in the area of Peski. But no, for several days now the junta is moronically hammering the territory of the airport and even sometimes tries to attack, like this happened with the attack on the radar station, which is located to the north of the airstrip. Meanwhile, even by the Minsk agreements and the demarcation line that was established in September of 2014, the Donetsk airport goes to the NAF, which is also confirmed by the February demarcation line that is also used for withdrawing the forces.
The reason for this mulishness is quite trivial: the collection of corpses in the ruins of the terminals became more active in the last few days. Although they are being cleaned up since the last 10 days of January, the problem is that a significant number of the dead "cyborgs" remained under the ruins of the floor that was blown up by the assault infantry of the NAF during the final stages of the assault. Besides the bodies that were clustered in those areas of the floor that they held, they also find the KIA from previous fighting. By various estimates, in January the junta lost up to 1000-1500 KIA in the area of the airport (this includes the airport itself, the settlement of Spartak, the locality to the north of the airstrip, Avdeyevka, Peski, Opytnoye, the air defense unit, the radar station, the communication tower, the strike in the area of the Putilovka bridge, etc.). The problem is that the "myth of cyborgs", which collapsed in January, played a cruel joke on the junta propaganda. They inflated this myth for several months, but after its rapid demise the problem of mitigating the unpleasant situation emerged instead. The idea of closing the subject of "cyborgs" with the thesis "they retreated orderly, because the terminal was ruined" became prominent in the Ukrainian propaganda (it showed up again, this time in the case of the Debalcevo cauldron). But here everything ran into the deviations between the propaganda and the reality. Our forces started to dig up numerous corpses (first on their own, later with the help of POW, who are just as numerous) and put this up on the internet with the message of here, see, we didn't lie when we said that the enemy had major losses. As more photos and videos appeared, the templates imprinted onto the Ukrainian laymen, which were lied to by their propaganda, started to crumble. Instead of an "organized retreat" they saw the bloody traces of the propaganda myth of "cyborgs", where hundreds of soldiers fell into the ruins of the airport buildings for pretty TV picture. In the end, the TV picture finished this myth off, and there's nothing to invent - just go ahead and show them the end of the bloody gamble of the Donetsk airport, where the NAF finally took revenge for the losses of spring, summer, and autumn.
Because the junta has essentially no ability to impede the collection of corpses and the creation of new TV-images - the capture of terminals lies beyond the abilities of the junta forces in this area - it has nothing to put up against the TV-images from the ruins of the terminals. So, it can only resort to the primitive reaction in the spirit of shelling the airport, hoping that this will make it more difficult to collect the bodies. The stupidity of the situation also includes the fact that the corpses are given back to the junta, so that the relatives of the KIA could still bury those who fought and died in the Donetsk airport. The number of transferred bodies is long since in the hundreds and it would seem that the junta should be interested in speeding up the process so that each soldier can be buried. But no, the junta actually tries to make the process more difficult so that the society wouldn't be able to comprehend the actual scale of losses suffered by the AFU and the punitive battalions in the area of the Donetsk airport.
