My First Paid Sewing Job!
I had a co-worker ask me if I could make welding caps for her boyfriend. I had no idea what she was talking about. So, she brought me in a manky one that he had been using. I first tried making a pattern by tracing the hat that she had given me... No go, even after much adjustments. I found a Simplicity pattern for winter hats, and it worked perfectly. I've made 2 now, and this is the 2nd one. The next one she wants in Seahawks fabric, which I'm currently waiting to arrive from e-Bay.
Apparently they wear them under their welding helmets to help absorb sweat, and the front brim is to keep the band off of their forehead. Either way, I got cash!
The inside is lined as well for extra comfort!
