Jennifer's Easter Dress

I made this dress for my older niece for Easter.  I had originally bought a McCalls pattern.  Once I started cutting it out, I realized I really didn't care for it.  So, I went back to my Simplicity pattern, and just changed the top.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  The bodice was a bit harder than the others I've done because of the lining, ( Read more... )

Well done! You will definitely learn more as you go. I also highly recommend Simply the Best Sewing Book
. It's pretty easy to find in used book stores because it's been around forever. It explains pretty much everything you'll ever see in a Simplicity pattern and has all kinds of helpful information for sewing and reading patterns. There are also some good patternless patterns are that fun to make, too!

Thanks :) I'll have to look for it. I should have just trusted my mom when she said "Don't bother with other patterns. Just use Simplicity." And really, they have been the best ones I've used :)
