I was invited by a friend to the Marquette Physician's Assistant annual dinner and dance. She and I have gone out a few times with my two good friends J&S (who are still not engaged, but getting close) and we always have a good time. Since S is also a PA student, the four of us went to the formal event together. I had a GREAT time. Good food, good wine (or, at least, a lot of it) and great company. I even got on the dance floor for a while. After going to a bar for a few minutes and leaving because it was too crowded, we finished off the night by going back to my place and playing Wii Sports - or, as I like to phrase it, by playing with my Wii.

The Packers. *sigh* Oh, the Packers. They just gave up the game. Our defense sucked and gave Manning all the time in the world. Al Harris was getting beat by Plaxico Burress all night. We couldn't get a decent running game for most of the night. The Giants even missed two field goals, one at the end of the fourth quarter sending the game into overtime and we STILL gave up the game. I was and remain more upset about that than I probably should be.

My sister, brother-in-law, and I drowned our Packer sorrows in some key lime pie and the second half of the BSG miniseries. We watched roughly the first half last Sunday evening. Bro-in-law really enjoyed. Sis, not so much. Last weekend that is. She kinda dragged her feet about watching the second half last night, but Bro-in-law and I convinced her. Once we got past Adama and Leoben's fight, she got more interested. She pretty much thinks the entire cast of humans are Cylons. Every human that's on screen for more than 3 seconds, Sis says "Is he (she) a Cylon?" Or "Oh, I bet he (she) is a Cylon." This got to be hilarious and included Adama, Roslin, Apollo, Starbuck, Baltar, Tigh, Dualla, Gaeta (she's pretty darn sure about that one) and perhaps even Billy at one point.

Needless to say, by the time the credits rolled on the miniseries, she proclaimed, "Okay, maybe this is kinda interesting...let's watch another." We then watched "33", but she fell asleep. I believe they will continue to watch without me, and I'll join them here and there. If she's anything like I was at this point, she thinks it's a pretty decent to good show and she'll get hooked by You Can't Go Home Again just as I did.

I started working out again today. I stopped a while, pretty much at the same time my graduate class started. Time constraints, late nights, and all that. I planned to start right away after the new year, but I dragged my feet a bit. Roommate, however, did sign up at with our employer's fitness center (he and work for the same company, currently different buildings). So as extra motivation, I devised a little competition. We count how many times per week each of us works out. At the end of the week, whoever worked out less owes the other the difference in beers. It seems kinda wrong to reward working out in beer, but hey at least we're earning them. Apparently getting rid of my gut isn't enough motivation to workout each day but competition with Roommate (and beer) is.

I finally spent the Apple Store gift card I got from the iPhone price drop. There really weren't any accessories or anything I wanted/needed for less than $100 and I certainly didn't want to spend more money (the iPhone was bad enough). Sister suggested I get a shuffle for working out so that I'm not risking dropping my iPhone (as has happened multiple times in the past). This was an excellent idea, so I picked up a silver one over lunch today!
