winter whatnow?

It's April 11. I'd call that well into April. It is currently 34F and lightly snowing in Milwaukee. There's a Winter Storm Warning going into effect today at noon and lasting until tomorrow morning. 8 to 10 inches of snow is expected.

WHAT. THE. HECK?!

Just when you think winter is dead, it gets up to slap you in the face one more time. Ugh. I love Milwaukee. But seriously, can we speed up this whole global warming thing and maybe bring winter down to, o,h, four months would be nice...

In other news, I signed a lease for a new apartment yesterday. I'll move in on June 1. It's loads nicer than my current place. Newer appliances, a dishwasher, a double bathroom (shower/sink/toilet on one side of a door, another sink/mirror on the other), and two window-unit air conditioners. Plus, the previous tenants have been there for five years and have decorated the place quite nicely. The walls are painted in appealing colors and we'll probably let them keep it that way instead of white washing them. But a HUGE plus is that it's across the street from a nice downtown shopping center. Pick N' Save, Starbucks, Einstein Bagels, Blockbuster, Panera Bread and Chipotle are all less than a block away. I will likely gain about 25-30 pounds in burritos alone.

Finally, this week begins the tech rehearsals for Narnia. It's time to add the lights, sounds, and other various details that turn this play into a show. As any who has been in theater can tell you, tech week can be excruciating. Late nights, stops and starts, last minute changes - it's all very draining. Yet I love it. I have an 8 hour rehearsal on Saturday that will be somewhat exhausting, but this is where all the magic happens. We open one week from tomorrow. The nerves are beginning to kick in.
