[Fic] Jenna meets Max (PG)
Title: Jenna meets Max

Summary: The first time Jenna meets Max.
Jenna follows Danny into Max Bergman's office and before they enter, Danny turns around and looks at her.
"What?" asks Jenna now completely confused and slightly scared. She's heard stories of Max from the other members of Five-0 and knew that one can never prepare to meet Max.
"He's a bit eccentric. I promise he'll warm up though just don't do anything or say anything weird," says Danny before opening the door. "Max! We're here," shouts Danny.
Max appears from the other room and stops when he sees a new person. He looks at her, tilting his head. "You're new," he looks at Danny, "who is she and why is she here?"
Danny sighs and pulls Jenna forward, "This is Jenna Kaye. She's a new member of Five-0, Max."
Jenna nervously smiles and offers her hand, which Max doesn't take. "I used to work for the CIA," she says. 'Please don't do anything weird,' she thinks as she remembers Kono telling her how Max offered her pickles that he made in one of the jars from the autopsy room.
Max comes closer and looks at Jenna then at Danny. He's already cataloging in his head all the ways to test her.
"None of your usual antics, Max. We need your help with this case," Danny uses the tone he would with Steve when Steve wants to do something insane.
Max glares at Danny and mumbles, "spoil sport" before walking to the autopsy room. Danny smiles at Jenna before nudging her forward to follow Max.
Max waits near the dead body for the two to enter the room before starting to speak in mostly medical jargon.
Danny rolls his eyes and stares at the ceiling wondering why he always managed to make Max angry. When Max was angry, no one except another doctor can understand a word that he says.
Jenna smiles as she realizes what Max is doing. She interrupts him, asking questions and pointing out details using the same jargon.
Max stops talking and stares at her before a wide grin spreads on his face. "Jenna, you said. Nice to meet you. I like you. Danny, you can leave now. Jenna knows the way back," says Max to Danny before continuing to talk to Jenna.
Danny looks at Jenna and Max leaning over the body, talking to each other and pointing out details. Apparently, one smart comment in Max speak has earned Jenna the same status they had with Max. He hopes that Jenna doesn't turn into another Max, one is more than enough.
"Okay. So, I'll see you later then," says Danny and waits until Jenna gives a slight wave without looking in his direction. He shrugs and walks off. When he's out of the office, he calls Steve. "You win but that doesn't mean I'm going into the water," Danny says once Steve picks up. He hears a loud laughter and puts the phone away from his ear until Steve calms down.
"I told you he would like her as soon as she said something. By the way, I'm sure I can convince you somehow," answers Steve and Danny can just imagine the smirk on Steve's face. He couldn't believe that he lost the bet and now had to spend the day on the beach with Steve.
