Joe's Ancient Orange Spice Mead

Apr 01, 2010 23:11

I bottled the Joe's today.  It is brewed with Red Star baker's yeast, which is supposed to be good up to about 8% Alcohol by Volume.  In fact, this appears to have achieved about 13%+ ABV, from the specific gravity difference. It filled 19 self-sealing 0.5 liter bottles, one 0.75 liter capped bottle for short-term consumption, plus 2 small glasses which had already been filled from the S.G. measuring sample.  Mead Bread starter created and sitting in a warm place for tomorrow.

Ben will probably get a case of bottles (12) to share at college. The rest will go to the basement. for cold storage and later consumption with friends. Mas o menos.
