I seem to have been avoiding adding my contribution to LJ land for several months now, so a brief summary:
In April I was told there was no need for a CTS in personnel, so if I wanted my promotion I would need to move on to the shop floor.
I decided to look for a job up north because a) I miss my old housemates and b) the cost of living is so much cheaper.
I got a offered a job with Empire catalogues, accepted, and put my notice in at the shop.
The bank refused me the money to move as my startin salary would not increase. Arguing that my cost of living would be lower was futile without proof - which I could not obtain without moving.
I asked my boss if I could postpone my notice until I found another job. She agreed.
The next day I was called into the store managers office and offered the promotion again. I accepted and a test date was set for 4 weeks later.
I was given a 'pep talk' by my manager that consisted of:
I talk to much
I need to work as a team with her, not the other girls in the office.
I have no management skills.
In the middle of this I have had four interviews for HR Admin positions. The feedback for all of them has been the same - came across confidently, answered the questions well, but another candidate had more experience...
I missed the test due to being in bed with bronchitis. It has been re-scheduiled for 2 weeks time (4 weeks after the original date) but I don't know if I will pass due to her 'constructive criticism'.
By scraping together the money for June's rent (paid on the 3rd of July) I have left my bank account to dry to pay July's rent.
If I lose one more point of my credit rating they will take my switch card off me.
I'm going to re-write my CV this weekend and send it back out to all of the agencies. If I don't have a job by the end of the month, I'm going to Pertemps and applying for Yell.com. It may be a call centre, but it pays enough to survive
