My thoughts on Torresgate include the following:
  • I don't think he would screw us over like that. There are so many ways in which he's now tied to the club and has professed his loyalty to us, and it seems so unlike him to mess with the club in the middle of a season. I always said that I couldn't blame him if he chose to leave in the summer. But in ( Read more... )

I wrote all that stuff - I believed all that stuff - about him being too good of a ~person to shit on us mid-season. I really didn't think he'd do it. I thought it would a major, major douchebag to do something like that, particularly given everything he's said in the past. But then he went and did it. And now I just feel like a naive idiot.

*sigh for the rest of my life*

I wonder what'll happen now. Like I said, it's possible for him to redeem himself the way Stevie did. I'd love for that to happen. But gosh, way to shit on an already terrible season. This has been such a bad year to be a Liverpool supporter.

I don't think he will, either. Stevie contributed massively to the 2005 CL and single-handedly won the 2006 FA Cup. He has been an absolute beast for us since then, to the point where no one would try to deny his loyalty. I'd be amazed if Fernando goes on and does the same thing. Not impossible, but very difficult.

I think it's finally settled in for me, at last. I'm excited about Suárez! And, I mean, we won things before Fernando Torres, and we'll win things after him.

If he doesn't want us, then I don't want him.
Exactly. But I imagine Kenny would want to keep him until the end of the season.

It is really hard. I loved reading his book. I mean, I have really adored him for the longest time. It's going to be weird, not loving him. Not having him in my icons, in my fics, on my desktop wallpapers on occasion... It's going to be weird not being excited about the fact that he's our player.

Oh, me neither. No drastic changes when you're ~grieving, and all that! Who knows, he might turn around and apologise and play really well for the rest of the season. That would be great.
