Firstly and most importantly, happy birthday to the gorgeous
eileenyx!
Secondly and considerably less importantly, I've been feeling a little sorry for myself over the past week or so because I'm annoying like that. So, inspired by the ever lovely
malinowy (♥), I thought I'd remind myself of some of the little reasons why I should pipe down and cheer up.

Phil is definitely intelligent and witty, and he also has a big heart. He's been campaigning for HIV awareness in Germany for several years now, and he regularly gives anti-discrimination interviews. (LOL, I would have stared at that uni guy too! XD)
I was actually a bit sad when I read that VDB was planning not to start him because I thought Llorente deserved a spot in the starting line-up after his amazing performance against Lithuania. Ah well, seems like the second defensive mid was a good idea, and also it's great that we can depend on Llorente to save our ass even when he comes off the bench. ;)
LOL, I'm not really learning Basque! I'm in my second semester of Spanish and I don't think I could learn two languages at the same time. But I bought myself a Basque dictionary when I was in Bilbao and I'm using it excessively. XD I actually remember some words already, like "osasun", which means health, or "gazta", which means cheese. XD

Aw, what a great example to set.
Well, any Basque is better than no Basque! Does 'osasun' have anything to do with Osasuna?

Philipp Lahm is made of awesome. Fact. :D
Yes, it does! Osasuna is actually the only first league club with a Basque name, meaning "power" or "health". I think this is incredibly awesome, especially since the club is situated in Pamplona, which is in Navarre, and Navarre isn't even a part of the political Basque Country (i.e. the autonomous community). ;)

He definitely is, and it's great to see how much recognition he's been getting for his anti-discrimination work. I hope other footballers follow in his steps.
You're just full of fascinating facts. ♥

I hope so too! There are only a few footballers who have spoken out on the topic of gay footballers, but they're doing a great job.
LOLOL, I'm the king of useless information. XDDD (There has to be a point to me, right? XD)
