don't raise your eye, it's only teenage wasteland.

Apr 19, 2009 21:56

So, I got home from paintball today (so much pain, haha) to see my bedroom light on. Being an insanely private teenage girl, I got worried.

My mother was sitting at my computer, typing out some crap for her work. This would have been all well and good (well, ignoring the fact that it's really strange to see anyone touching my computer) if it weren' ( Read more... )

Aah that's so awkward, and the thing is, if your mom is anything like mine, she won't say anything about it, but there'll be this awkward, unspoken knowing between you two and just... basically I'd be mortified. Sorry, that probably didn't make you feel any better hahah.

Ha, I didn't really post in order to feel better, so don't worry. :)

Yeah, my mother does sound like yours. I don't mind the unspoken thing too much - as long as it doesn't involve random knowing glances, or her sidling up to me in the kitchen saying "So... That Torres and Gerrard looked awfully cosy in the match this morning..." *cringes*

Ahahaha! SOrry! I am sneaking on here when I shouldn't be but I couldn't resist commenting about this!
LOL! Ah, well. If she doesn't mention it, don't mention it? XD. I'm sure she understands. (MAYBE she even LIKES it! =D and then you might be able to talk to her about plots and what not! After all, you seem to talk to her about lots of other stuff too, like movies and books...?)

(on another note, my mother said that perhaps she should start watching Liverpool play because she thought Fernando is good looking, ahhaha.)

Ah. but Paintball! I always wanted to go! how was it?! Lots of bruises? xD?

And now I really sould go and sleep... 8am start tmr! *dies* (and study has failed. immensely. I hope your essays had a better fate than my studying. @_@)

Oh, I definitely won't mention it.
Haha yeah I talk to her about movies and books, but there's a huge wall in between what I do with my spare time and what I talk to my mother about. There is no way I'd sit down and talk to her about various reasons as to why Daniel might be angry at Fernando, etc. Ahhh how horrifying! I don't even talk to my mother about RL relationships, like my friends'!

LOL @ your mother. My mother only really finds Pepe Reina good-looking. (Understandably so.)

Eckh paintball was okay. I'm not exactly a paintball kinda girl, and I knew weeks ago that this wasn't going to be my type of fun. Violence just doesn't interest me in any way. I was like "Ahh, do I absolutely have to shoot him? No? Excellent." And the whole time I was thinking "What if this were a real war? He would be immobile with those kinds of injuries. I would be dead. How horrible for real soldiers who have to go through this." And so on ( ... )

I'd feel awkward too (urgh, nobody has the right to touch my computer - I'm afraid this kind of thing may happen, there's too many slash-related things on it!) but there's nothing to worry about. I mean, parents know that their sons usually watch porn and they probably know that their daughters have something too...

And like ombu_tree said, maybe she likes it? Seeing how many women enjoy slash, that wouldn't be surprising. That would maybe be even more awkward if it was to be mentionned in your mother/daughter relationship! LOL

Ha, that's a very good point! Makes me glad I don't have stacks of porn on my computer. Gosh, that'd be 5937575 times more awkward.

I doubt my mother would be into that. I think she's too old-fashioned to look past her (very hetero) romance novels. But I don't think she'd have a problem with it either.

Noo, paintball is bad =( It reminds me of war and why should anyone ever find pleasure in imitating that (ok, I see the fun factor behind the game but I'd never play it for abovementioned reasons)?

Oh no, that will only magnify my paranoia of someone finding out. I'm always afraid that someone might open my notepad or find my fiction on the internet. Maybe she'll think it's cute if it was only fluff?

And players that she knows well.
So your mum likes football? Or does she only know them through you?

I'm glad you share my opinion on this.
For me, it's the same with children playing with toy guns or the overall popularity of these violent video games. It's all pretty disgusting, seeing as how every day people all over the world die in real fights and wars. What is it only with human nature that it finds joy in this?
Woah, you had some pretty serious thoughts running through your head, I hope none of your friends will decide in favour of such birthday celebrations again =(

Btw, Atonement - I still haven't seen that movie!

"Why are they playing if it's so cold?"That's so cute =) Just imagine ( ... )

Oh, I totally agree. My parents never let me play with any of that stuff when I was little, so I guess that's a huge reason why I'm not aggressive in the slightest. I can't even squirt a water-gun at someone without feeling guilty. I just don't see the necessity to play games like that! There are sooo many other ways for people to pass the time.

Ugh, they have spare tickets so they're planning on going back in a few months. I obviously told them to count me out. They think I'm weird. I was the only one (bar a few girls who just couldn't take the pain) who saw anything remotely wrong with the concept.

Btw, Atonement - I still haven't seen that movie!Have you read the book? It's so much better, omg. Amazing writing. The first section blew me away ( ... )
