I know I know, you might have already "heard" or suspected, but now it's
completely official. Danny proposed to me last week! Woo hoo! Here's the story if you are interested :)
At work last Tuesday morning I finished doing the mail in the back and came
back to my desk to find a beautiful boquet of yellow tulips and a bottle of
fruit juice- but no note. Everyone was "oooh"ing and "aaaah"ing at my
flowers and wondered the occasion. I was just as clueless as they were. Then
I listened to my voicemails at break and Danny had left a message saying
something like "You are my princess and you are beautful- I'm praying for
you, I love you" - ya know, the mushy gushy stuff :) So then after work I
came to his house because Tuesdays are our weekly date night (sad times but
we actually have to plan a date night in cuz we're so busy all time!). Then
he gave me a box of my favorite chocolates from Belgium (the ones in the
shape of sea shells- man alive those things are the bomb). So he asked,
"What do you want to do tonight?" and my heart sank because I had been kinda
sure he would propose to me that night, but now it sounded like he didn't
have anything planned. So we decided to go eat dinner at the Old Spaghetti
Factory towards downtown. It was great food and the chairs are really cool
(if you've ever been there you would know what I mean). Then he was like "so
where should we go now?" Then he suggested Minnehaha Falls. I have never
been up close walking around and watching the Falls before- so I was so
happy. When we got there we came as close to the falls as possible (and
even walked past the "danger- do not enter" sign). There were a couple
random people and couples around, but it was still very romantic. Then as we
watched the gorgeous waterfall he kept saying all these sweet things and
then I'm thinking, "oh here it comes!" and he said he had a question for me.
Then he got down on one knee in the rocks and asked me to marry him and put
the ring on my finger and switched my purity ring over to my other hand. I
thought since when he asked me out last year and I answered by quoting
Napolean Dynamite, maybe I should be a little more romantic this time :) So
I said "Yes with all my heart!" Instead of "Heck yes!" :) :) Hehe> The ring
is so beautiful and unique and he picked it out! I didn't know what he would
get and I was very happy. Then we walked around the falls some more then
came to his house where John Gordh- his roommate-took our pictures. Then he
brought out a boquet of purple roses (purple is my favorite color) - I
didn't know purple roses existed??? :) Then he got out a bottle of champaign
and we had a toast- except we could both only drink like half a glass
because we don't like alcohol that much- hehe. Then he gave me a new neclace
chain to go with the heart neclace he bought me for Christmas (it broke).
And of course all throughout the night he was telling me how much he loved
me and that I am beautiful - he's a pretty romantic guy. You would never
guess it under that tough mechanic front :) Hehe. We plan to live in the
cities and stay involved with our church and keep working at our jobs, then
we hope to head overseas in the next year or two!
Alright- sorry, I am such a detail person and figured if you wondered the
details, I would provide them :) Soooo... when's the wedding?
Good question :) Well the wedding... haha... is pretty much all planned out.
Its on June 24- a Saturday, at 11 am. Its going to be at Oakridge Conference
Center in Chaska- about 30 minutes away from the cities. The ceremony will
be outside in the back by the lake and forest area, then the reception will
be inside the building.
So much fun- but sooo many details. My head is spinning- its nuts. But I am so excited to be a wife. I am so excited to have a husband. I am so excited so excited so excited! Thank you Jesus for this dream come true!
