Sammi came over today, and I decided to make bread without my bread machine, for the first time ever. By hand! I made French peasant bread with fresh rosemary in it, and felt very 17th century peasanty. ;) I also made fresh lemonade, which is also a 17th century French creation, but, you know, not for peasants. Peasants drank barley water for fun. Mmm. Anyway, the bread turned out surprisingly good! It was much flatter than I had intended (it was supposed to be kinda. . ball shaped), but I don't think it affected the texture too much because it didn't seem dense and wasn't tough or anything. It ended up tasting a little bit like the bread at Macaroni Grill, if you've had that.
(That is, of course, the lemonade in the background.)
We also had triscuits and "cheese" spray. Like Sammi said, you feel really good about eating a cheese product, which should be dairy, not needing any refridgeration. But whatever, it's delicious in a redneck sort of way. It's also very artistic. I drew this portrait of Sammi with cheese spray. It is extremely accurate. Some might say that her enigmatic smile is comparable to that of Mona Lisa's, no?
And then we watched Fanny Hill. And that was our day. The end.
