I once read a fun Sam/Jody fic, basically a booty call between friends, and how eager he looks to hug her here brings that story right back. :)

If the writers wouldn't kill so many of the women Sam slept with I would totally ship Sam/Jody.
but because they do, I'm just happy to have Sam & Jody - one of the few returning characters who has a deeper connection with Sam instead of just via proxy of Dean as many others seem to have.
I mean, Jody might have been Bobby's girl, but she has most of her scenes with Sam and I love it.

You're right, as soon as one of the guys starts to like a woman, her days are numbered on this show. I just love fanfic; it doesn't have to become canon for me to enjoy it. :)

It is a nice change to see someone closer to Sam, and the bond happened organically, too.

Yes. I wondered there for a while if Sam would ever have a lasting friendship of his own. I love that he's bonded with Jody.
