Have to say, this is my least favourite episode in season 1 and I'm having a real struggle getting my review of it done. I'm ambivalent about my favourite Sam moment. I find the 'romatic' scene with Lori super uncomfortable - it really makes me cringe - but it's important because of Lori's comments about being cursed and everyone around her dies, which is a notion that Sam takes on board all too strongly. I think the window scene is my favourite brother moment too :)
PS I really love the b/w edit. It really emphasizes the way the light picks out Sam's hair.
This is one of my least favorite eps, too, but it does have some good moments. I'm sorry you're struggling to get your review done. The Lori and Sam kiss was awkward, and only served to show that it was too soon for Sam after Jessica. But like you say, it's important because of her comment about being cursed and those around her dying. We all love the window scene. :)
Aww, thanks so much.♥ I'm glad you like the lighting of Sam's hair. :)
1) This is such a big sam ep for me. The best scene may be when he is holding off the hookman while Dean looks for the hook.
2) This whole ep, again Dean is just hoping to see signs of Sam recovering from his loss of Jess for a bit and having some fun. He watches Sam to see if he will kiss Lori at the end, which is a no. He asks Sam whether he´d like to stay a bit, at the end of the ep. They drive off, Dean sighing disapointedly.
I love those funny scenes too. Esp the "brother!" and sync at the hospital.
There are many good Sam moments. Sam holding off the Hookman, that's a good choice for best scene.
Yes, Dean hoped that Sam was starting to recover from Jess. But Sam felt it was too soon. I like how this will shift later on, in Provenance. Then Dean will say "That's my boy". :)

I'm with you on that window scene. Hookman isn't the strongest episode overall, IMO, but I always think about the window scene. It's hilarious!
