Back in Sept of last year, I learned how to make granny squares, and then
this happened.
I felt sad losing all that stuff, but I also had to face that I found it hard to make granny squares on my own. So, I stopped making them... until now.
Youtube is a great resource for learning things, and I found a vid that worked for me! It's the same basic granny square, but the steps are done a little differently, and now I understand the pattern so much better.
Here's one of the square's that I finished. I just noticed that I left out a few stitches. Oh well, it's easy to fix! It's a good example of why it's important to check that you have 3 double crochets in each set of the stitches.
And here's the vid. It's for the absolute beginner, though I do think it's best to know some crochet basics before doing this.
The only change I made is doing 6 chains in the beginning instead of 4, because it makes the first set of stitches look better.
If any of you decide to give it a try, let me know!
