Reuben's Writing Challenge
write a story inspired by the banner picture
A gust of wind lifts Reuben gently off the ground, pushing him in the direction of a colorful pile of leaves. He lands gracefully on the autumn grass, surrounded by curious faces. But how can this be? Orange eyes stare back at him, on a background of red. Leaves don’t meow, or beg for treats. At least, not until now!
The air shimmers as a tree fairy paints her way to his side. Her brush dipped in orange, she traces a leaf pattern around Reuben, until he’s lighter than air. A thousand kitty-leaves greet him, eager to be his friend.
