(no subject)
Saw my ex's sister today. She has a real sweet guy for a hubby, and even though I was an ass to her whenever i thought my ex was in danger (plus once, when I was trying to defend him in an argument in the car, and twice for something just stupid and selfish) I really did care about her well-being and had to suppress giddy urges to grin that she's getting married! (No, I'm not being sarcastic today). So I sent her along with wellwishes for the best of futures and a little something else, because I doubted I'll see her again for a very long time, and I think it was well-received.
I'm glad to see that her life has improved dramatically (I think all three of us were at particular lows in our lives when we all fought like wet cats in gunny sacks) and she's going to have a gorgeous little tyke, with the genetics they're going to have contributed! Ben's a rather charming and handsome fellow, and I hope they stay in love a very long time.
It's funny, I had this impression from his voicemail that he was a rough-and-tumble sort (his message is curt and gruff) but he's actually very pleasant and genuine, and has that kind of persistant charm that inevitably would wear down anyone's defenses.
He said at one point, "I've heard nothing but good things about you," and I poked a little fun saying, "You heard what? From HER?" then laughed and told her I was kidding and took Lauren downstairs to show her the new bathroom.
Her husband Ben loves "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels," too, which couldn't help but earn approval points from me.
Finally, was glad that I found a use for evil Gladys's tow straps. I had no idea what I was going to do with six of those things.
Met my neighbors Brandon and Kris. Nice couple. Not sure where they live, exactly, but apparently its within a couple blocks!
Was supposed to hang with Ryan tonight, but I can't find his number and he's not answering his IMs this afternoon. :-P Raincheck ok? I guess I'll call it an early night instead, seeing as I'm running on about 3 hours of sleep last night after another wild and crazy Randy and Nate night.
