I think this is your best one yet, and I really, really like your other stories. Especially that three part one.

... I really have nothing coherent to say because I'm rereading this as I type, but this is beautifully done. The way you weave and have adapted both characters for their development is stunning. And the colors are a nice touch.

Thank you! :D I'm glad you like it! I was worried about how it would come across, since I've been writing and rewriting versions of it since the end of May / early June and I was starting to get frustrated with it... ^^;

I think it's funny that you commented when you did, because I was just on and tweaking a few lines minutes earlier. XD;

I will have to reread it then! I do enjoy it. I like how the older version is becoming sage like. It suits him. Well, sage like in the bit of the falling of the bandwagon type of way. But every good master needs to have their quirks, right?

You don't have to; it's basically the same, aside from a word or two. (Changed "shine" to "sheen," for example.)

Heh, I wouldn't really think of him as sage-like, but the younger does know the least about anything. So, in comparison, maybe. XD V1 is dead and Smokey the Figure there, taking on some of his memories, likes to be just as helpful as the last version while trying to direct V2 one way or the other.

I should amend that to be 'as sage like as Tyki can get'. Well, he is being a good sport to himself. But can't blame a ... ghost?Christmas!Past for having their own agenda, can you?

If you're a construct involving your host's subconscious and someone else's memories, and heavily influenced by that host's magic weapon to the point of almost being a mouthpiece for it, and have previously accidently contributed to your host's kind-of-breakdown... yeah, you'd better be a good sport to yourself. XD;

Even if he was totally a ghost, he'd still never be without an agenda, ha.

Oh! Before I forget: In case you don't know, that deck V2 is playing with at the end of this piece is one he got from V1 while he was dead, which is the one V1 took from Solo way back when. Would it be alright for Card to give that back to Solo sometime?

That is what makes him so loveable in a odd sort of way. I mean being part of a conglomerate subconscious seems a good way for V1 to carry out his days. Who needs a retirement plan right? It just fits him. Man, I love the differences yet similarities between the two.

Of course. Though, from how the thread is right now, I don't think Solo is deserving of any gifts unless they are flung in his face.

Because he's more of a partial copy, I don't particularly consider him V1. If he was complete, really, I think he'd find it torture. Considering some of his issues with other Tykis. XD; I'm glad you like the similarities and differences! I have fun with that stuff.

Yeah, if Card handed over that deck right now, he'd probably be like "I'm only giving you this because I said I would OK >|" (or something like that) and try to chuck it at Solo. Which he may very well do, if he doesn't decide to hang on to it out of spite and give it back another time.

My ability to convey concepts fails. I am up past my bed time. But yes, I was thinking more a shadow of V1. Maybe a few ideals from him, but not actually him. Okay. I'm going to stop typing as I think you know in spirit what I mean.

Hey, he'd play 52 card pick up for that deck. At least that one isn't cursed like his current one.

I kind of guessed but I wasn't sure, so I thought I'd clarify. No worries! o/ And my internet cut out right after I got the notif for this.

Having a cursed deck sounds like trouble. XD Is it that one deck that shows different things depending on who looks at it?

That would be the deck. Still not certain how it works, but they always make the most entertaining plot devices. And it came with a cat.

And I'm really enjoying his current thread with Card. Ah, the bitterness.

Well, don't you know? The best decks always come with strange animals. XD And flexible plot devices are always good.

I'm glad! I'm having fun, too, but I was getting kind of worried since I've had Card's be so pissy. Not that he doesn't have reason to be angry, but he's also being a touch irrational about things.
